Exactly, he's been on a factory 250 his entire career.
The only thing holding Ryder D back is Ryder D himself.
Him holding himself back is very true . But with the injuries hes had especially last years hasnt helped his confidence. He was never happy with the team last year they didnt give him certain parts he wanted etc..This year he loves the bike and loves the team and its showing hes finally starting to ride like he used to, confidence is building, speed is coming back . with a couple good finishes early in outdoors could change everything for him ..................heres a good example --cole davies on the Gas Gas barely heard of the guy, goes to Star Yamaha and hes a completely different rider
all two and a half or 3 years

After watching this season, i honestly wonder what PC and Star do to pick their riders.
Of all of the Star guys, only Davies has been consistently good, the rest have been all over the place, and honestly, PC just needs to go back to hiring non US guys again, they have been woeful for so long.
Still, always next year.
We went through an era of too many kids unprepared for the reality of turning pro and racing with minimal gate drop experience. Now we are seeing the side effects of these kids who got thrown into the deep-end, now all these years later and have just been trying to make it through healthy and get gate drops.
There is nobody coming through who you can look at and say ' he is going to be huge' ... No AC , no Forkner, no Difrancisco.
The fact that only 1 of those guys delivered a Championship, in what has to be close to 50 chances, is also a realisation that it doesnt add up any more.
Age limit would sort the issue, lots of riders going by the wayside because riders are not getting moved on/out. If you push a decent guy to 450, he will find a place. Marchbanks is a prime example, he was done in 250 and would never ever win if he rode till he was 35 in the class. Now he is a top 5 450 guy.
How many years do you pay a guy to not win half a championship.
What does Nate Thrasher have to do , to not have a ride at PC or Star. ?
Nate can win one regional SX a year and he will have a factory ride until he is 65. It is up to the Ryder Difransecos and Daxton Bennicks of the world to keep him from doing that. Something is amiss in the current training or amateur system it seems.
Nate has national number 25, is on track to get a national number near that again, he finishes with his teammates, and if he's been with the team for years then they know how hard he works, why shouldn't he have a ride and who should his ride go to?
