Stewart left the door wide open. Reed did what anybody would have done. If stewart left off and squared up the corner he would have still had the lead. It was racing, and good racing at that.

Amen. JS didn't back off and ruined his chances and Reed chances on the win. And this isn't the first time. He makes always mistakes if he is under pressure I did tell it before on this board and I tell I now again!

Truly amazed at people whining because two guys raced to win a race. I would bet you anything if the roles were reversed Stewart would have block passed Reed. If they didn't have a desire to win the races would be boring as hell.

Kevinw Is that really how you think? Is your brain really wired like that. I feel for you if it is.
I still don't get why people are ragging on Kevin Windham.

Next time Stewart finds himself being slowed down by Reed for a few laps he has a licence to punt Reed into the cheap seats. James followed Reed around for lap after lap without feeling the need to cut across a corner without any hope of turning and parking his bike at 90 degrees to traffic in front of Reed. Cheep last lap move by a desperate rider who always loses control of his brain and emotions when a faster rider passes him.

You're a moron thinking JS had time to back off. When he was getting on the gas, that's when he saw Reed's bike straight across the track in front of him. They showed two angles of it. Watch it.
James should have known that Reedy was gonna square him up.

Another case of James thinkin hes the only one on the track???

So MXMattii, it was JS7's fault that Reed didn't win? Laughing That's great.

"When he was getting on the gas, that's when he SAW Reed's bike straight across the track in front of him."

Then he shoulda fuckin' choped the throttle. No win for him but he wouldn't have LOST points to RV

So let me get this straight. It was ok for Js to run it in on Reed but not ok for Reed to run it in on JS?

Damn Stewart fans the boil on the ass of motocross.

Chopping the throttle a couple feet from another bike won't keep it from running into it.

2 questions: 1. Wonder if any bikes got kicked over in TwoTwo's pits after the race? 2. Wonder which one is going to the other's house to ride this week in FL? Wasn't that the hot rumor last week? Okay, maybe that was three questions. Inquiring minds want to know.Wink

Great race by BOTH them. Great pass by Stewart and and great battle back by Reed. They should both be proud of that battle. Neither one has ANYTHING to be pissed off about. Stewart will be mad for a while but that's racing. He should have protected that inside a little better but one again...GREAT RACE BY BOTH!

bottom line,if you want to think like those 2,reed cut stewart off ,and realizes stewart rarely shuts it down when someone comes inside of him like that and stewart feels like no one can run his pace when he is on it ,so he had no intention of shutting it down for no one. the problem with that is, he still had a rider in striking distance.

You guys saying Reeds move was well executed are just delusional. I'm a fan of CR's, but I've re-watched it several times now and he was at least 4-5 bike lengths behind James when he entered the turn. Stupid move. I don't care if it was for the lead, that was like the IT incident x 3.

On the contrary, the pass of JS's on Reed that everyone is bitching about where he took Chad high passed Regal, Stewart was not even a single bike length behind Reed, and made NO contact whatsoever.

man if I had just put an aggressive pass on someone on the last lap of a race and then I was coming into a bowl turn before some whoops i'm fully expecting someone up the inside of me and allowing for it... that's racing 101

by the way that race was epic I hardly ever get worked up watching supercross but that whole race i was on the edge of my seat,
it had everything i've got some mates that aren't into motocross and wonder why i am. I'm showing them this race...

they'll understand

At which point did he "see," and at which point should he have gotten off of the throttle? Look at the lines, not the speed.

I like Reed and Stewart, and I agree with you skidsteer16. A move like that that takes out the 1st and 2nd place riders is idiotic. I know they want the win really bad but that's what put them out last season.

Your kidding me right? If not you have never raced in a competitive race. Have you ever takin out a fellow rider to advance your position? if not you have always dragged up in last. get a grip kid and try and win a race or two and then comeback with that.

think about it,if stewart had worries about reed, he would of protected the inside.he didnt think he had to.keep in mind, i am basing this off the fact that stewart is the fastest guy on the planet.

Great post, my friend. I couldn't agree more. Racing 101...Stewy should have anticipated the Two-Two stuffing it in the bowl turn. He never even thought about it from my perspective. He leaped on the throttle as if nobody could hang with him and before he knew it he was into the 22.

With respect to your second point, great call...for anybody that's not a SX/MX fan, I think tonight was one of the best races I've ever watched and I'm 37 years old and have been watching SX/MX for the past 32 years.

If chad thought he had a chance he wouldn't have made it there. It would have been the turn James passed him in. Chad knew james was gonna open it up through the whoops and made a bad fucking decision. Chad will end up paying for it one way or another.

Racing incident.

Chad went in hard and a little late.

James should have been looking up and slammed the throttle shut.

Pure racing and both were at fault equally imo.

Awsome racing. Unpredictable to the very end.

For the record I disagree with Reed's move. However, that aside, did he really think that there was a chance that JS7 would have locked it up and allowed him to take the position? These two riders know each other... I don't think that there was a doubt in anyone's mind that James was going to go for it no matter how good of a block Reed put in place. Reed should have known that putting himself in front of James was going to get him clobbered and cause things to not work out in his favor.

SO whats reed supposed to do just roll over and let him win , maybe now james will know that some one isnt going to be intimidated and that maybe he will have to let off so he dont end up on the ground .
It would have been more points for him... I doubt that James would do anything different if the same situation presents itself next weekend.

you can also square up unless the guy darts across the inside. It's a classsic T bone. Same move that sipes made at houston. I dart across the inside like that in reflex, but you can't expect somebody to let off.

The line shows that it was a T bone. That is a Tbone line.

Wwatch it again. Reed took the line, call it what you want Stewart decided to twist the throte and take them both out,

What was James take on it ? Damn straight to the pits again?

Atleast we are not talking about him landing on anyone this week.
