Wait we're counting him out yet? 4 motos to go. They have both made mistakes this season.
Absolutely hated the way that moto went, it wasn’t even necessarily a hard crash and I think if that occurred literally anywhere else on the track he would have been just fine, gotta remember Jett has had a few spills this year so it’s certainly not over
This narrative is way, way overplayed. There's just less margin for error and greater consequences when you're pushing that hard as opposed to nursing a six second lead.
Definitely not counting him out! Just had a little cushion and is now in a win-out situation against Jett which makes it a really tight position to be in

That rut had a massive hook in it late in the day. He slammed into it and it bit him. There were a lot of guys that got bit yesterday. Everyone said how fast and slick the track was. A very different Unadilla than we’ve seen in recent years. Hope he comes charging back next week with a 1-1.
Gutted for him, but earlier in the moto I noticed the fast long right hander around the start of the track, he was getting all out of shape pushing the pace. Could see the bike didn't look great. 1-1-1-1 still gets him the title, but wow what a mountain to climb and what an emotional rollercoaster.
After the moto 1 win, that 15 point gap put the pressure on Jett to need to go quite literally perfect (1-1-1-1-1) in the remaining 5 x motos if Hunter was to go 2-2-2-2-2.
I thought something was wrong with his bike 2nd moto and that's me watching the race in attendance. Jett got him and out of nowhere Jorge goes blitzing by in the screw-U. I thought for sure the next lap they came around Hunter woul have gotten back around Jorge. Next lap not only did he not get back into 2nd but it looked like Deegz was catching him. I told my buddy, I wonder if there's a problem with his bike. Those two haven't been on his level this year whatsoever. Next lap or two, he goes down in the worst spot ever
Track was really dry. I couldn't even tell you when I remember it being so dry and slick like it was. Not many sections got the crazy long ruts that usually develop there. Like others have said, I think it was just bad luck. It wasn't pressure getting to him. He made a mistake in the worst spot to make a mistake on the entire National circuit. A vertical wall where he had to pick up his 250lb bike. Fans struggle to just walk up the hill alongside the track. He had to pick up his bike and remount it FFS. He makes a similar mistake anywhere else and he remounts and finishes in the top 5
