Unnecessary take out moves like he's been pulling will be counterproductive to him winning the title at some point.
The second Hansen did that to Cunningham, I turned to my wife and said, "That was just dirty riding." Jeff Emig then echoed my thoughts exactly about 1.5 seconds later.
It doesn't matter whether you like or dislike Josh Hansen or not, it was dirty riding. It was not necessary. I'd have a lot more respect for guys if they just said, "Yep, that was a dirty one alright" and not try to justify it. I mean at least have the guts to call it what it is. If my best friend did that to someone in a race, I'd say the same to him.
My guess is there will be payback and it will be an expensive lesson for a rider who's old enough to know better.
This is pro level racing, and taking advantage of an inside line that was left "wide open" doesn't equate to running over someone.

Let me ask you, did you see the Canada/100 incident?
If it's okay for 100 to run like that, why not everyone else?
You're correct about that as Hansen could have just as easily made the pass back without targeting KC's front wheel and deliberately going for the unnecessary and dangerous take out.
My opinion may be different on the Canada incident.
You guys tell me this is right, last segment.

You saw what you wanted to see.
Your a rider,
Have you ever raced on a very slick surface, and didn't feel like you could make a turn any tighter with out breaking the wheels of the bike loose?
I haven't seen the replay, but I would bet that Josh was already sliding when contact was made.
Like I said....nice, clean move....no but there are thousands of dollars on the line here it isn't chicken licks raceway.
And "Kid" ?
I'm looking at 49 in a few months, kid is long gone......lol.
It's only going to make the West more interesting.
When you say you've not seen the replay, does that mean you saw it live at San Diego? If so, maybe take a peak at replay as it didn't seem like a situation where Hanny overshot the point where he needed to square it up.
BTW: Motograndy: I watched the Canada incident and Josh took him much wider than he had to and it was Unnecessary.
That video also showed how KC can be as rough as anyone.
Pit Row
What I found interesting was when KC blantantly took out Roczen, but also himself and another rider in the process...if you want to pay someone back, at least do it right!
Anyone know who that was?
Bump into him slightly... take him slightly too wide... LOOK over at him... etc. Whatever it is, Hansen's default setting is to crash into you. He's judge, jury and executioner all in one. And his sentence is always the same. He doesn't just do what you did to him. No, he tries to take you out.
And aside from being immoral, dangerous and disrespectful, it's a silly, silly risk for almost no gain.
He doesn't have to do it. Making enemies left and right is not in his interests towards winning the title. If someone took him out then that would be different. I have tremendous respect for the comeback he has made but he need's to cool down a bit and let his speed (and gritty rides through pain) do the talking. If he wins this title then that is what people will look back and respect him for... Good speed early on and gritty rides through pain.
As it stands, almost ANYONE could do what they like to Hanny at the next rd and no one (almost no one) would care.
:o(
Please don't let what these idiots say get to you. They are message board hacks who have nothing better in their lives than to bash on the riders (and sometimes the riders' family and/or friends/girlfriends) to get attention. KC is a talented rider, and I am sure that he can and will handle himself on the track just fine. He's out there racing which is something most of these message board hacks can't do. They will bash a rider for being in the lites class too long while ignoring the fact that their untalented asses have been in the C class for the last 12 years. We all know the riders and their family and friends read these boards. That's why these douches post the stuff they post. A thread bashing a rider gets ten pages, I post a thread saying something positive about Dungey and it drops off the board quicker than the speed of light, ending in flames and insults. My point here is that they (the message board couch jockeys) are going to say what they are going to say. I would just ignore them.
