Last 2 pics are from my backyard. Also kind of blows my mind.
The last pic I zeroed in on a feature that appears as a straight line. That is the "Straight Wall" or Rupes Recta, a cliff made by a linear fault where one side sank about 300 meters.

Thanks. There is a fairly close one for me called Mt Pinos about 25 miles from Goreman. It avoids a fair amount of light pollution but nothing like the Sierras. The scope I have is very limited on what I can photograph. It only has a 3 1/2" mirror and about 10% of that is taken up by the secondary. It also a has long focal length which means I can only shoot really bright stuff. I used to have a 10" f6 Newtonian which would be the scope I would want to hall to the Sierras. I wouldn't bother bring this on up there. Going to try to get Saturn and Jupiter with it but I am not optimistic.

It's been a while since I've had it out, but I believe it is the Meade ETX-125.
Images captured with my phone camera in the eyepiece. I believe I had a moon light filter on there, aswell.
This was in my backyard in Phoenix, which usually has alot of light pollution. The date was July 28, 2020. Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, and Venus were all in alignment. I think Mars wasn't visible until just before dawn, which I why I don't have pics of Mars, I guess.
There are some great dark sky areas in AZ. You don't have to drive far. Same here in CA but you might have to drive a bit farther.
Very difficult to get a sharp image with photos. I use a method called "lucky imaging". I'm actually shooting video and processing down to an image. If your ETX-125 has tracking then you can do it too with your phone. If you are interested let me know.
These images don't look as sharp on here for some reason. The site may have to do some processing. Not sure.
You can do landscapes too.

Can't seem to get it in the finder scope. Will probably have to wait until Jupiter is up. It has over 100 moons.
