Because ,I believe it is already well known that L&M are only gonna do a few selected nationals or so.
The question was asked months ago...why keep asking the same questions?

If anything changes ...I'm sure we will see a L&M PR before the nationals.

I don't care about Stewart riding the nationals but it will be a shame if Kyle Regal isn't riding them.

How many different versions of "we're racing 4-5 selected (read zero) nationals" you want to hear?

About 4 races outdoors? I think L&M has said that for the last 4 years.

Well, last year Stewart was out with a hurt wrist and didn't get released til the last part of the series.
They did show up at one race last year.
But really,it was for a lost cause,no mxon ,so why even bother(better off getting ready for SX).
They did indeed have Hill but we all know he got hurt also.

The year before that..... we all know James wanted to take the entire summer off after going 24/0 the year before,so that was a no go.

The year before that was when Reed I believe was still riding for them.
I think they did one national ,but over bad TV coverage of Reed they decided not to do anymore.
Was really no point in it,from their point of view.

If we see L&M outdoors this summer, then great on them.
If we don't see them, then so be it.
I tend to pull for the guys outdoors that are going for a championship, not the fly by night riders, that may show up here or there.

How much did they pay him to do that national?
I believe his contracts are SX only (RedBull/Answer/Oakley/L&M/Bell/Nike/MX vs ATV).
I don't believe he is paid a penny to race the outdoors...other then maybe some sort of bonus,if he does well.

James is damned if he does , damned if he doesn't with some people. I'd love to see him race outdoors but it's his career, his decision. Just enjoy watching him race when you can.

I'm being real.
You be real...
Show me how much he got paid, if that is what you believe...?

Never said he was doing it on his own money,San Manuels Team Budget I assume...yes.
But I do not believe that he was getting paid per race or making any profit for doing the outdoors.
Nor did he have a contract for any outdoors....
He was trying to do the Mxon, for reasons unknown, they never did come out and say why, maybe a huge bonus from Red Bull if he made the team.Or Red Bull wanted him there racing for the exposure (Red Bull is the title sponsor of the MXoN).
But after he wasn't chosen for the team, they pulled the plug on those last nationals and focused on SX preparation.

Also, even if he showed up at the Nationals to sign autographs...
L&M isn't going to tote a rig around the country just to do that.
There is no Factory Yamaha team.
He would have to do it under the red bull tent or another sponsor and I'm sure he would want more money for it because it is not in his agreement with them.

Stewart will not race the Nationals because he is far more vulnerable there. While great champions are determined to win, he is scared to loose.

Come on guy's, if he really wanted to do the nationals he would sack up like Reed and make his own team.
It's just not where his heart is at. I don't blame though cause if I had his money, I'd be chillin when I could!

L&M belongs to Stewart. You can freely say that he has his own team.

Why does he need a rig to sign autographs?, i m sure he enough money or nuthangers that would take him to the races!,or he could have raced if he wanted to, face it man he does nt want tp do the outdoors and he s grown make s his own decisio n and he chose sx only, nobody forced him to sign! He could have did something like Reed this year!

I have zero respect for a young rider who doesn't race and support MX. I can handle Windham not doing them but F the rest of the guys who don't. It's a kick in the balls to the history of our sport and the riders from the past.

Right, because Regal is a much better talent to watch outdoors as he battles for a top 5 than Stewart is - a guy who had a perfect season.

The reason for a rig would be to gain exposure for the sponsors that support his team and look professional.
Going there on his own dime, spending his own money is a joke....and he shouldn't have to do that,it's James Stewart LOL.
He is there to make money, not to please everyone.

I do not blame him for doing SX only,he is making more then any other rider out there just doing SX.
So why should he risk injury doing the outdoors if he doesn't have to?
I would assume if he was paid big money to do them,we would see him there....but maybe not. Wink

As for him doing something like Reed did...
Why on gods earth would anyone want to do that when a team is already throwing millions of dollars at him?
However, you might see him running his own team eventually...more then likely after he retires from racing.

But bottom line....It all boils down to money.

Ya know......that's actually a good point. It is his life. We all think we would do things differently and maybe we would. The way we would be thankful, humble and complimentary on the podium. Not make excuses when things aren't going our way. Using our head as to not injure other riders. Actually racing for the fans and sponsors like we say by doing both series. Not expecting to be treated differently than any other pro rider. Things like that. We don't know exactly how we would behave. So,I'll just be happy when I do get to see James race whether SX or Outdoors. I will marvel over his skills on a bike and applaud for him respectfully at the introductions of the race............do I want to see him win?Nah! Too many other favorites to root for.Wink

Thats right. I think James is better at the outdoors than Supercross as evidenced by his perfect season. His ability to hang it out further than anyone except RC has placed him firmly in the books as one of the greatest. Probably a dumb question but do these guys make more money at Supercross?

Yes,Supercross is where the money is. Wink
Hopefully someday it will not be like that....but that is how it has been for years.

Is this ground hog say or just a bad dream.... why oh why do people come on this board and ask the same question or make the same statement that has been made many times before? This is common knowledge.... the team is SX only, get over it! He isnt racing the nationals please please please stop this for the fans crap... this is his career and the way he gets paid and if he, or you for that matter, can make just as much money for half the work he and you would/will do it!!!!

So please please please stop these ridiculous threads and get behind the riders that do race the nationals... there are many great ones that do!

I guess it does get a little old after a while but I for one was ruined watching the 2006 outdoor season with RC and JS. It was epic. It seems to me that the really fast guys can show it off in the outdoors. There is just so much more opportunity for creativeness and just wide open flippancy.

The fucking idiots that held up we hate niggers, and all the racial comments might have something to do with it. If I wasn't wanted somewhere I'd have a hard time going as well. Funny after that sign the entire family really had no intrest in the outdoors.

I understand not hearing the racial comments because you probably weren't standing at the starting gate like I was, but you forgot the sign? Does anyone actually follow the sport?

The Stewart family I would think would get a lot of respect and admiration in general and I would think they are bigger than that. If I was him I would show up just on that reason alone and just ignore the lunatics. Those people must get shunned pretty severely.
