I own a 2026.5 KTM 450 SXF factory edition and have put about 25 hours on it. I had the suspension re valved by the dealer I bought it from but for one, I’ll be honest they did a pretty terrible job and after three months of calling to get things dialed in, I have not had one single call back. That’s aside the point, I’m not on a terrible set up, but I’m likely going to be sending it down to Mark at REP. Anyone else who has owned this bike or even the cone valve suspension on a newer model ktm, what are some things you’ve done to really dial things in?
I never got comfortable with Cone Valve forks until ENZO converted them to regular mid-valves.
Go to normal off the shelf Euro CV valving. That’s pretty a pretty dang good spec. I’ve ridden and had lots including regular mid valve swaps.
Send them to REP … you will be impressed. Make sure you are very honest on the set up sheet questions, if you need help they are very helpful and patient with you as you describe you style, likes, dislike, and can help articulate it better in terms that help Mark develop the setting for you. He has set up my last three motorcycles and i never deviate more than one clicker from his setting and honestly usually run it just how he sends them, you wont regret it!
Edit: i guess one guy doesn’t like REP suspension?
I had them do my 350 and it was solid so I have full trust in their work.

i hate it when my suspension gets revoked.
I’m slow, but I had Solid Performance do a revalve for me when I bought the bike there and I haven’t touched a clicker since. It’s my first 450 and first ‘modern’ MX bike after a decade off, but I can’t find anything to complain about.
I just had mine done by REP. I went way overboard and had every option put in the fork and shock. It turned out great. REP has revalved 2 bikes for me and serviced my my kids bikes as well. I have zero complaints. It’s nice when you spend the money and the product you receive is noticeably better.
If you contact them they will give you all their options, and the price of each option so you can pick and choose what you would like. There’s no hidden fees, and the itemized price list is down to the cost of oil. I like seeing the breakdown. It feels very professional, not like a shop that just throws a number out to you.
Powerband Racing.
REP and cone valve combo is going to be killer. IF you can take a video of yourself riding and send it to them in an email that can give em a good idea of your pace and style and will help them with custom valving, but even without hat extra insight they are gonna get that thing set up real nice. they have a ton of cone valve experience.
The 26’ Factory Edition 7548/4950 pro component platform is extremely harsh in bumps, and rebounds too fast. Federung Suspension can fix it for a fair price. Federung Suspension is the side business of an Engineer who has worked for a world leading manufacturer since 1997. To be honest, anyone will several quality years of experience with these pro component components can valve it correctly. But, unfortunately way too many hacks muddy the suspension tuner waters and give the industry a bad name.
No brand has ever released a '.5' model. Git with it!
