That is sooo sick.....here is one from vegas, when he was infront of reed....ABOUT 12 SECONDS IN

I can only imagine what Reed is thinking right there...

"Alright, I have James in my sigh.... holy fuck! Did he just decide to jump all the whoops in that section? Wow!"

I mean, it had to be something like that.

It is so neat to watch a guy with his talent and I feel lucky to be an SX fan at this time in his career. I really doubt that anyone in the field can step it up to his level anytime soon and pull stuff like that. He is great for the sport, I have never seen the boards blow up so much after a race. Hopefully he stays healthy and can continue to amaze his fans.

The crazy thing is that he over jumped it. His suspension ate it up like it was nothing. It looked like he was floating through that next section. Good stuff and thanks for posting it.

I have no idea how people can hate on a kid that goes all out like that.

P
I'll second that without reading the whole thread. He was on another planet last week. Fastest rider on Mars.

I have to notice that speed makes no mention of the huge quad that stewie busted out, nor the leap over the whoops section from years past.

The vid from the US open is another WTF? I think that it was mentioned on the webcast, though.

Very skillful but it doesnt look like something he was going to pull off
every lap.

The quads he was doing are awesome to watch for sure, but one slightest mistake with a jump like that and it could end the season or his career. RC would not try something like that when he was racing Stewart, he was to smart back then not to and sections like these that Stewart does are only on a small amount of tracks throughout the year.

That is insane, and when the tracks get more techincal in the east watch out, thats got to be why RV looked so deflated on the podium interview on speed cause i don't think he wants to hang it out like james and end up in the hospital like last season..
It is quite insane, however, I am not sure if JS is hanging anything out. To me it looks like he does that shit with pure smooth confident skill. He does it effortlessly. That is what is deflating RV. Hanging it out is what RV can do. He can twist a throttle, bang bars and battle down in the trenches, but I am not sure I have ever seen RV find creative ways through ridiculous sections like that. RV = Stanton and JS = JMB. There are many of us who are being quickly reminded why we were so excited to watch JS every time he lined up.

I'm with you, JS7 jumping that quad looked effortless, and like P said he over jumped it so there was no shortage of land for James to pull it off.

So I'm thinking, dangerous I know, that there is a disconnect
between what we, as fans, want see and what the TV production
show us. I go to races and I keep and eye on Stewart because you
never know when he will do something amazing. We as fans know
that some of the things he is doing have never been done before
and nobody else is doing them right now. So it's like he's hitting
home-runs or doing slam dunks that we don't get to see on the TV
program. We have to find it on cult underground viral-video.
When James lines-up, my heart rate accelerates, because I know
some wild shit is bout to go down. Then I watch it on TV and they manage
to suck all the life out of it by moving the focus of the show to back in the pact
after the hole shot. FANS WHAT TO SEE THE FRONT OF THE RACE AND
THE FASTEST RIDER! Tough concept to grasp, I'm sure.
James is doing QUADS and we are watching 4 laps of RV can't get by IT.
If the TV people don't understand there audience and don't make an attempt
to understand their audience, then they will forever be POSERS.
Don't got me wrong, I'm grateful for how far the technology has come to give
us the coverage we a have. However I won't get Speed on cable for this reason,
It cost to much money not to be able to see the history making stuff that I want to see.
To their credit, they did at least acknowledge the QUAD, late it the program, with
a slow-mo. About 1/10 as exciting as when it actually happened.
I understand the you don't want it to be the "James Stewart Show", but pretending
he doesn't exist isn't making me call my cable provider.

We were at this track when James was around 12 and on a kx 80. There was this launch down hill into a crazy offcambered rough section with knee high ruts and holes. The 250 A riders were landing about 30-40 feet down landing before the ruts and holes, James was launching blind wide open and landing at the bottom, right in the nasty stuff without missing a beat every lap. I was on the gate behind his class the first time I saw him launching but could not see the landing but all I could think was Holy cow that kid just jumped too far and had to of wadded but he was doing it on purpose every lap effortlessly. I knew this kid was something really special.
