Ridge was the first person I thought about when I read yak's post (mostly because I forgot about Renner). I remember a video of him and Peely riding some pretty technical off road stuff in Utah about 10 years ago.
ya sounds like harry. had a shoulder strap that mounted a rod connected to handlebars. at least thats the setup he was usin in like 2011 when i shot photos at baja acres adaptive moto
I had the joint in my left thumb removed so it's an inch shorter and doesn't 'bend'. I thought that because I couldn't wrap it around the bars I wouldn't be able to ride but realised that in fact you mostly depend on your palm and pinky finger to hold on. I don't think the OP will have any trouble at all.
By that time, dad had already hurdled the fence, ran across a pond like Jesus and was by my side to assess the damage. He my hand in between his and walked to me to the wagon as I went into shock. One surgery had what looked like a wad of bubble gum stitched on, followed by a complete mummification, black, shriveling of the flesh, then another surgery to remove it. I would then become the proud owner of 9.5 fingers and the butt of countless jokes from my friends. All good. Moral of story-fuck it, embrace what you got. Sober up before racing and always still refuse to rock bark busters!

No amputation, but Dennis Jonon ( I believe originally out of KS) wore platform mx boot because he had one leg shorter than the other. Really wasn't much of a hindrance for him. He was a very fast amateur, and I believe he did some pro racing as well at some point. I know he raced some supercross races in the earlier 2000's
I’ve seen multiple guys with only 1 arm absolutely shred on a dirtbike and even Downhill MTB. If they can do that, you’ll have no problems!
Indeed. Back in the 90s there was a guy in the PNW who raced with only his right arm, and the clutch on the right side. I only saw him in the AX series during the winter but he ripped, B class if memory serves.
Sure made me feel dumb for complaining about hanging on late in a moto lol…
