Lowering Peg/Tall Sea Review on 2025 150sx

I am 6'2" without boots on, for the first time I have started experimenting with taller seats and lowered pegs. This review should apply to other 2025 KTMs as they share the same frame.

I tried the Flo lowering pegs which drop down and back this weekend at a local sand track and I had to take them off after the first practice. I found that the pegs altered the contact points with the bike so much that a good portion of my boots was no longer in contact with the frame because they were gripping on the rear number plate flares. The pegs also made it awkward to get forward in corners because the angle of my leg had changed so much. I put the stock pegs back on and felt right at home.

I have the KTM Powerparts tall seat on this bike. It has been a pleasure to ride with. I've seen some folks mention that tall seats raise the center of gravity so much that it negatively impacts cornering, but that has not been my experience. The bike feels much more open with the taller seat and it provides more contact with my legs such that I feel much more connected to the bike. The seat cover is also well constructed and far grippier than the stock seat.  The fit and finish of the KTM Powerparts seat is top notch, but it does look rather goofy if I'm being honest.

TLDR, lowering pegs aren't for me and likely not this bike and tall seats are will be on all of my bikes moving forward.

Let’s see some photos of it! Can’t look that bad. How many mm+ is your seat?

I’m 6’3”, almost got a KTM 250SXF but I ended up getting a 25 KX250 and I love it.

Kawasaki’s have two Footpeg mount locations on the frame, I put mine in the couple mm lower one, and also move the bars into the forward mounting position.

Went with the +30mm Guts seat and that was really what was a game changer for me. I wish I had tried a tall seat long long ago. My knees and legs can actually grip now and I feel like the bike fits me.

Also I think it looks cool with the tall seat, I was scared it would look goofy tho.

I’ve tried taller bars in the past, felt like it just messed up the handling. Never tried the lower aftermarket pegs but I always figured they messed handling up as well.

Crazy to hear pegs make such a difference? Or at least the ones you used.

I run the raptor 5mm down,  10mm back and the difference is subtle, just a little more room to get under the shifter. Certainly doesn't change much else....

If I'm on the balls of my feet the difference was immediately apparent as the KTM seemingly has a sweet spot for where your legs need to be. These Flo pegs were 12mm down and 10mm back and my boots were no longer contacting the frame, but the number plate flares. Oddly, the aftermarket pegs were smaller than than stock. I switched back to stock while at the track and felt right at home.

I've got the 35mm tall seat and its been great. I'll have a tall seat on all bikes moving forward. Stock pegs went back on the bike while I was at the track because they just were not comfortable for me. The were also smaller than stock which was disappointing.

I have tried two different tall bars and CR Highs and Windham bends. The Windham bend is currently on the bike as I felt the CR Highs had way too much sweep back. I'm torn with the tall bars because it really does open up the cockpit and I like that feeling, but if I'm coming into a rut I do often feel like my hands are too high and have difficulty tracking the rut. I'm on a small bore so I tend to avoid the issue by running outside lines to keep the bike on the pipe. I may try to go back to a stock bend at some point and see how they feel.

You might like pegs that are lower but not further back. Carapaks makes some that are 5mm down and also 10mm down. Slavens racing carries them. I have also seen them on Ebay.
