Let’s talk about something and someone else… how about Jordan Smith breaking into the top 10 on his Triumph 450? Definitely a big step up from his finish at Pala. Think he might knock on the door of the top 5 before the season ends?
Credit also to Triumph Racing for their third top 10 in 4 races…
Good to see him upfront and I hope he stays there. I just remember them doing an interview with him back in the sx season and there was definitely some bad juju under that tent at that time. I recall him saying something like "we've had issues you just don't expect to have on a factory team" in a very dejected tone. It seemed like he was referencing like just basic bike maintenance type issues..... like tightening the oil drain plug for instance.
Who knows, maybe seeing Haarup up front lit a fire in Jordon. He clearly had the speed on the 250s, but had a hard time staying healthy. Now he's healthy so lets see if he can continue wicking up the speed.
Hopefully the team problems are more along the lines of “I can’t believe they forgot to book my rental car” instead of bike maintenance stuff.
I too am hoping he’s found a new fire to motivate him. I had to dig in the Vault and was reminded that he’s a Daytona SX winner (250, of course), so hopefully he can get on a roll outdoors. We need more US racers to step up!
This weekend he mentioned something about communication within the team, that they needed to continue to work on that.
Yes, nice to see his results improving.
Solid gains, let's hope he remains injury free and it should continue.

i'm surprised but also pleased for him. Hopefully he can keep running inside the top 10 for the rest of the year.
Yeah I can get on board with this. It's good to see Jordan and RJ get their shots at 450. I hope they keep building. God knows they've paid their dues.
Exactly. We need RJ, AP and Jordan to step it up and remind us that they are actually pretty damn fast…
They have, but I don’t trust either of them not to wad up unfortunately. I say that as an RJ fan
