He still has a lot to offer the sport, but at some point , you have to wise up to the fact that 'believing you can still win' , and actually making that happen, gets harder with time.

He should have stayed 450 , do you think that Marchbanks is suddenly a better rider ??  No he is able to use his technique and skill with the extra power he has, instead of being on the edge of death for 30+2 in 20th on a 250 with a bad start.

What makes you think it was his choice to drop back down to 250’s?

Nothing. But it was never going to end well.

Not Never; Langston made it work and ended with a 450 outdoor title.  Shame he couldn't defend his number 1 plate.F5A0420

The forkner situation is so sad.  His speed was unmatched for years and ultimately the Dallas crash seemed to save his life when they found the underlying health issues…

I feel for him.  It seems like such a difficult spot to be in.  I’m sure he knows that speed and skill is just underneath something but man risking it all at this point is a big cost.

Say what you want, but I met Austin and his pops at the Elsinore SX track back at the end of 2018 and they were cool as hell to me and my buddy. Austin was super polite, talked to us for like 15 min, his pops pulled out a number plate and had Austin sign it for my buddy, just cool as hell and left some good memories for me and my buddy. Austin was hauling absolute ass out there too.

Go watch some of the 2016/2021 era with Austin & dirtshark. It might be called style or something similar.

Badass.

Now if you want to utilize just a hair of observational awareness you can see “Pops” liked my comment and already made you look foolish.

Why people feel a need to act ignorant is beyond me, but you center massed that one fella

Did you really call Mike a wiener?

I’m sure he is devastated.

Is his contract for next year also? What a waste of time for Triumph.

I don’t see it this way, Triumph saw an opportunity to get a guy with generational speed when he was pretty much counted out. Sometimes you gotta take a flyer on potential, it doesn’t always work out.
