This morning in Oceanside, just before they began their 860-mile journey.
Just getting to Brawley, Ca. About 113 degrees out. Boys are making good time and feeling strong.
That is a heck of a distance to travel in that amount of time.

6:55 am Pacific Time
After enduring temperatures of 110F for much of the day, Jeff Ward and Micky Dymond were happy to see the sun disappear over the western horizon. However, the temperature only dropped slightly. It was still in the mid-90s when they rode through the desert town of Brawley, California.
They’re currently closing in on Time Station #6 in Congress, Arizona. With 370 miles ridden since leaving Oceanside yesterday, they’re keeping an excellent pace. Their average speed so far is 19.6 mph.

19.6 average is hauling ass for non professional cyclists. Especially for that distance!😎
Wardy enjoys the air conditioning in one of the support vehicles while Micky takes his turn on the road.

About an hour ago, Jeff Ward and Micky Dymond rode through Flagstaff -- 537 miles into their 860-mile pedal to Durango. Their average speed so far is 18.36 mph. They're right on target to reach finish with a speed greater than 17.51 mph, the current 2-rider age 60-69 record. Keep it up, guys!
BRAAAAP!
Freaking animals that's crazy speed!
Pit Row
Don’t have enough service to post pics big today was brutal on the guys. Up the Yarnell grade in close to 100 degree weather, up to Prescott and Jerome. Then they had them on an interstate where they had to merge across lanes of traffic, we were running block in the minivan but fucking A people drive like assholes. The downhill corner speeds they’re hitting are mind boggling, we had Wardy at 57 on part of the S-22, the “glass elevator” We couldn’t hang in the minivan, no way. Same thing following Micky into Jerome after Sedona, I don’t know fast he was going because we couldn’t stay near him. Right now Jeff just climbed the grade on the 160 into Tuba city and Micky’s back on the bike. It’s 82 with a tail wind (that was a crosswind earlier. They’re motoring along ahead of schedule.
Sometime this morning they'll pass the Flying T Ranch, home to mountain bike and road bike legend John Tomac. Maybe you've heard of his son, Eli? In 2017 when Micky, Wardy, David Bailey, and Doug Henry did the Race Across America, Kathy Tomac cheered them as they passed. Perhaps John or Eli will come out today?

So freakin' awesome!!!
Micky and Wardy are racing to raise funds for Road2Recovery, the 401c non-profit that helps injured motocross racers and other extreme athletes. You can help their cause AND possibly win a Specialized Road Bike
All you have to do is DONATE to “Round Up For Recovery” where they support 2 legends on a mission to raise money for our injured athletes at road 2 recovery!! Click the link:
Will they break the record? It's going to be real close!
Earlier today, John Tomac (Eli's dad) the mountain bike and road bike racing hero, walked out to the end of his driveway to greet the boys as they rode by.
