I have been to mxvdn of late, which has been fantastic events and certainly pulls in a decent crowd and great racing.

Only down the road for me, so Really looking forward to see the pros fly off the hills and will be interesting to see how much faster they will be than the vets.

It has big shoes to fill compared to matterly, so Obviously, the track will have a major revamp, hopefully it's not too sketchy and the weather behaves.

They've had plenty of GPs there in the past so I don't see why it shouldn't be fine now. As long as they can fit the big rigs in.

I hope they don't rip the track. As it's in July there's a goodish chance it won't rain. I went to the 98' MXdN which biblical rain and the track was like the Somme.

I’m doing a gravel sportive the day before near Thruxton.
Staying at the Thruxton circuit Saturday night and may well drive up to Swindon Sunday morning.

Will I be able to get tickets on the gate Sunday morning? And parking in the motorhome will be ok?

I really hope it goes well because the old GP's in the 1990's were great. There's no better atmosphere than a valley full of fans cheering and blowing airhorns. It's like a natural ampitheatre.

But... I'm hoping they've laid a shit-ton of new soil on it because the surface is absolutely knackered and worn out.

I hope it goes well too but I wouldn’t hold out on a massive crowd like in the 90’s. The Brits haven’t got anyone that will feature near a podium in the GP classes. Is Mewes gonna wildcard? Also back then, the races weren’t shown live like now which also affects attendance.

Alfie Smith has been posting a lot of stuff about the track modifications, they have moved the start back to where it used to be , to get rid of the stupid 180 first turn that has ruined pretty much every race i have watched there , and moved the track in from the road down the end of the valley as well.

Pit Lane will be on the far side of the start, up against the hedge, and i guess the Sky box will go behind the gate, giving a view down the valley.

They will use the start straight every lap as well.

Still undecided on what i will do, but will go, may not stay onsite though.

Holy fuck, it's £80 for a Sunday ticket. Is that the going rate now?

Just yesterday I was pricing out a visit to either the Netherlands or Foxhill for a GP experience this summer. I was leaning more towards England because that track layout in the valley looks like it's good for spectator viewing. Is Uber (or something similar) set-up in the UK?

Transportation & lodging around the track will be the real decision maker.

Yeah, we have uber. It's not very far from Swindon (or other smaller towns) so it should be easy enough to get there from wherever you decide to stay.

Yeah plenty of cheap hotels in Swindon, literally only a 10/15 minute drive away.

Not sure about parking a motor home, can't see it being a problem. You could always park 1 Mile away and pushbike in, that's what I done one year for vxdn

The first year mxdn, there was massive ques, but the last couple of years have not been as bad

Marlborough ( small little town) is around 15/20 mins if your looking for somewhere more traditional / up market

£80 is crazy money. The wife is moaning about having to pay £42 to get in to Knockhill next week to watch the British Superbikes championships. It seems like a bargain price now!

When was the last time you were at a GP?

Its £100 for a weekend ticket.

£50 a day .

I can do that in under an hour in the pub, without even breaking a sweat.

It isnt 2005 any more.
