I agree with you. Spring forks are better. But only if you have the correct spring for your weight. Pretty hard to do that as a production fork. Thats is one area that an air fork is better.

That is the truth.

The WP air forks that come on the current bikes are relative speaking really good. The issue is that a small % of people with a lot of influence (media testriders) have completely stigmatized the concept of air forks. Back in the day, some of them even told consumers to convert their WP air forks to single sided spring forks which is ironically even a worse idea/product.

The air forks can be good. However, they never felt as good in the corners to me. In some weird way I could not feel the front as well. That does not make sense to me because, in reality, roughly the same weight is on the front with either fork. In the bigger bumps or jumps they are fine. I have 6500s now and it really does feel better to me. Might just be a personal preference. For me, if they could get the initial movement/feeling improved I would be happy with the AER48s. (I need to get some Husky length AER48 externals so I can do a back to back comparison).

It doesn’t even matter if it’s perceptions, lack of set up, unfounded, or otherwise, people prefer springs, arguing otherwise is pissing in the wind.

Thats exactly how mine felt. I think anybody B rider or above honestly would be able to feel a big difference in that stock air fork vs a properly sprung spring. The air fork feels vague like your front wheel is just floating around, no connection to ground at all. I was washing the front coming into ruts lol.

It makes sense you would have less feeling from an air fork. You are riding on a cushion of air. With metal springs you are riding on a piece of metal that connects the upper and lower fork. Granted it is some really flexible metal, but it is still metal.

They need to do something with all the shocks the Factory team has that keep failing.  So they are throwing them onto the production bikes to get rid of them.

Just a joke.

Cool that they are making it more of a real factory edition and not just stickers and an orange frame.

The house I'm working on now cost 379,000. The same house 15 years ago was 139,000. Most of it is due to material prices. Not a single person working on the house is getting paid 3 times as much for labor.

As an owner of a residential concrete finishing company our prices are about 3 times higher  in 2025 versus 2002. The wages I pay are about 2.2 times higher. Houses where I live are about 3 times higher. I can see where it looks like I'm being cheap on labour.   2025 has been a terrific year for pricing. 2024 and earlier my pricing was about 15% less. The more  new housing starts in a particular year the higher our pricing.

Wish KTM would make a FE 350. $13.6k honestly isn't bad when u consider the clamps and suspension. I've got close to $15k into my 25 350 and the only "crazy" parts are the KYB conversion and I honestly got a decent deal on it at the dealer.

2k for a kyb conversion to get the same ancient tech as a 2006 yz250 had…

Every other bike comes with spring forks, but for Ktm you pay a premium to get air forks which nobody wants and then pay a premium again to get rid of them.

Well to be fair, most of the austrian pros are on air forks. Its just weekend warriors that cant live without a spring fork 😄

I LOVE my 24 450 FE with Air Forks. To be able to adjust the spring as I choose and for the track, with some, but only minor trade-off, pretty cool.

I think people are deluding themselves. Also, apparently Eli ran full WP at WSX this past weekend.

That's not to say the new cone valve FE isn't of interest, though.

I got $400 off mine back in March, didn’t ask for more. They’re a ‘good guy’ local dealer with low fees. I recently saw a Husky advertised for $2k off, but who knows what you’d wind up paying OTD.

I’ve heard $15k out the door is a “good deal.”

Spykes quoted me $14,900 a while ago then sold it & tried to quote my a husky. Honestly husky is the same except the subframe.

Taking the exchange rate into account I paid the equivalent of US$12688, 2 weeks ago, here in New Zealand.

That’s a great deal!  The best I’ve heard was $13k, but the guy bought 2 to get that price.

I found a good deal on a used 25’ with 3.5hrs, and another good deal on a used set of WP Pro Components  with 10hrs.  After a suspension tune I’ll be in less money then buying new. Keep an eye out on MX locker and other online marketplaces. There are some good deals to be had.

I have a 2025 350SXF and a 2024 YZ450F.  I just got my suspension back on the KTM and it's a great bike now.  I was going to get another Yamaha but it's a tough call.

What did you have done with the KTM suspension?

I have 6500s on my KTM and when ridden on a fairly rough track back to back with a 26 YZ450 with revalved KYBs it is very close. For the rear, a more progressive link really helps the KTM.

Cone valve forks and stock shock sent to Dirt Warriors suspension in Illinois.  They use the Race-Tech system with the gold valves.  I like it and might now get another Ktm
