I recently finished up this YZ125B. The build time was around a year. My goal was to use as many period correct hop up parts as I could find. I also used a ton of hard to find NOS Yamaha parts. The front forks and front wheel hub are off of a 1974 YZ250A. It has a full Noguchi kit. I installed Inter-Am handlebars, Goki air caps, Petty fender, Fox Shox, and a Red Line swingarm. Nearly all of the nuts, bolts and washers are correct NOS pieces. For tires I tracked down NOS Yokohama Super Diggers. I’m happy with how it turned out. Thanks for taking a look.

Beautiful job. My riding buddy had one of these (silver tank -- 1974?) and it was fun to ride.
As a side note, I had those Fox shocks on my 76 Honda. They worked well and added about an inch of travel (and looked really cool). Unfortunately, I managed to blow them several times. As it turned out, the extra inch of travel was a result of reducing the area of piston contact with the shock body at full extension. After a while of rocking back and forth, the piston/ring would fail. Maybe I could have/should have maintained them better too.
Back in the day 1975, was the YZ competitive?

In stock form the twin shock YZ125 wasn’t too competitive. My bike is an example of the mods that would be needed to make the bike competitive. I swapped out the Preston Petty front fender for a stock one. I think it looks better.
Your bike looks amazing, great job. I like the black and yellow look as well. Converted by 1974 A look like a 1975 B.
