NC has some great dirt when we get some rain. Me and a couple buddys had a great ride last week after work! I was able to rip the dirt up deep and get some traction!! Nice break from the dustbowl!

Definitely is, I made it 1/2 mile long, but it will flat wear you out with all the turns and close jumping. I can ride 3x as long on a big open track as I can on mine at home. Crazy how fast it wears me out.

For the sake of research and experimentation, I'd be intersted to know if you've ever tried a few laps in a lower gear?  Seems like it'd cut some time off those tight corners.

I do on my 150SX. I ride my 250SX in 3rd most of the time and make an attempt to be smooth. (im old haha)

I'll be riding the 150 today. I use 1st and 2nd and try to keep it on the pipe as much as possible. I turn 5-7 secs faster lap times on it typically. I was running 2:01-2:06 roughly according to litpro last week. I hit 1:53-1:59 laps on the 150 typically.

Awesome! I love a good backyard tight track….my long time riding buddy has what we call a Vet arenacross track, its a little more open than this but still very technical and mentally challenging….if I knew how to upload videos on here…I would😂

Man, I'd shred that place!

The old 250sx is the perfect bike for those tight turns, much better than a heavy 4 stroke.

Sounds a little rich which probably makes it harder to control than it ought to be. I had a JD jetting kit in mine and replaced the jet block gasket and that cleaned it up pretty nicely.

Those rainy/humid conditions combined with the tight track are making it sound worse than it is. Probably runs a lot better on a sunny day at a full size track, right?

It does!! Funny you mentioned that and great catch!! I fouled a damn plug immediately when we started riding last week. Uses a BR8ECM. Could only find a BR7ECMIX to replace it with. It just didnt  seem to run as crisp as usual on low end.Was ok on top though.  Got the right plug back in it yesterday. May need to work on some jetting next time its rainy outside.

I bought 3 acres last summer just so I would have a place to ride. It's a small track but it's mine. Pretty much first and second gear. I have to short straights I can catch third for moment. Working on making some small jumps (I'm 69 don't need much). Here is a drone shot. I can't get my Go Pro to load on here.

I built a backyard track 10 years ago. Loads of work but loads of fun as well. Thats me at 69 years old on the YZ 125. Slower these days but still having a blast.
