I was just watching the replay. How much do you think Prado played a role in the 450 SX Championship? It seems when he pulled up to Hunter, #96 started making mistakes until he made the fatal mistake of over jumping the triple and knifing the front. To me it seems like Hunter has a hard time handling pressure.
I guess if Prado wasn't right there, Sexton may have caused the same issues. Hunter has all the tools to be a champ, the only piece missing is mental fortitude. You agree?
No. I do not agree.
Of course Prado played some role in the outcome. Just like every rider that Hunter encountered on the track throughout the entire season. There's always some extreme recency bias to evaluating this stuff.
I wouldn’t necessarily say Prado played a big role. I do think Hunter realized that he couldn’t just wait it out anymore and need to get going seeing Prado and Chase were catching up. He started asking a bit much of the bike and the front just gave out. So while yes, Prado was applying pressure, I think Hunter just made a mistake of his own accord.
When Hunter does make mistakes it seems to be in quick succession after the first one.
Hindsight being absolutely magnificent, if he hadn't have gone down and let Prado through he could have possibly won it with Kenny admitting he was laboring from pain at the end.
The mad respectful scene of him and Dazzy looking up at Kenny and his team celebrating, while Jett was looking over at Hunter was pretty emotional.

It was like he just settled, if he had put some laps in and passed just two people kenny would have just drifted past him and this would be a different conversation.
Hunter absolutey crushed it when he had to the week before and then the heat race, its racing, he pushed the bike and went down, same as Kenny in the heat.
You need to lose one to win one, Hunter will be fine.
So glad Kenny got the fairytale ending
