I think "men" who get banned on an internet forum and can't help but start a burner account is a serious mental issue that should be addressed.  They are here and they know who they are .

My handful of closest friends have passed on in the last 5 years.

I'm down..it's hard. I work lo g days and look forward to the weekend...only to stay on the bed for the whole weekend...weather is shit here..nothing to look forward to..

Very soon I will be homeless.

Been a race mechanic my whole life and this is where I'm at...

I'm a 100% failure...

Boomslang : " I'm a 100% failure... "

No, Boom, You Are NOT That!

You've a Wife, and, if my failing brain is recalls correctly, 2 Daughters.

Those Accomplishments, Especially your Children, are NOT the mark of a failure!

You've provided for, and Nurtured  your Family, and, I daresay, your Friends.

That, makes you a Formidable, Good Man.

Don't Ever think of yourself, otherwise, Boom.

So sorry to hear all of this brother. Please hang in there and take care of yourself. It’s cliche, but tomorrow is another day. One day at a time. Hell, I’ve had to live one hour at a time occasionally. Whatever gets you through it. Things will change. You are NOT a failure!

Do you have any hobbies or interests that allow you to forget about the bad shit, even for an hour or so a week?

Assuming you are able bodied finding some form of physical exercise (that you enjoy!!) is immensely beneficial for blokes, for all sorts of reasons.

Thankfully I don't have any mental health issues but if ever I have a period where Im feeling stressed or fed up (as we all do from time to time) I find running around like an idiot playing sport or getting out on the MTB is the best medicine. It cleanses the mind. Especially if it's something that requires commitment and focus. Twisting the throttle and trying not to crash my brains out on the track had the same effect, maybe more so than anything else because that was my passion for a long time, but I don't ride anymore so I try to find similar enjoyment from other things.

No matter how shitty I feel beforehand and how reluctant I might feel about going, I always get home afterwards feeling much better for it. While it won't solve your problems it normally reduces that overwhelming sense of negativity and usually gives you a fresh perspective on whatever it is that's bothering you.

You live in one of the most incredible places on earth and must be surrounded by some epic shit that you probably take for granted. Sitting around feeling sorry for yourself won't do you any favours so if you're not into sport take your missus and kids out to explore. Find new interests and you'll soon find new friends.

A small win but still a win.

My moms health hasn't been so swell lately and after a day of watching her be in misery I came home to the wife telling me that she thinks our oven has finally died. The digital screen had gone black. I could go on a serious rant about how every appliance in my house has broke in the past 10 years but that's another day.

Well, this was just icing on the shit cake of a day i was having and I lost it, intermittently yelling and trying different things to fix the mother fucker till it appeared all was lost. It was at that moment I went all Nate Diaz on the piece of shit giving the area next to the screen a back handed hammer fist out of sheer anger.

And just like Fonzi showed us so many times, the screen lit back up and has worked ever sense. Fuck big appliance, you are not getting my new oven money....just yet.

I picked my lawnmower up over my head Saturday and, threw it across the yard.
Fuck  yard work and, trying to start that POS till you’re out of breath.
(I bought a new one Sunday 😂)

Right on!

Also, I have found the sledge hammer to be a very therapeutic instrument.

Splitting wood too. Especially if you got some knotty hard wood. Burns a lot of excess negative energy off.

Thought I dig up an old thread instead of making a new one. The last few weeks I've been dealing with cramps in my legs at night. Not just cramp that goes away, but like a knot in a muscle the tightens so much it incapacitates you. Tried to hold my leg in this one position that is wasn't as painful but could not even get out of the bed, and then, could not walk away from the bed as I couldn't lift bend or otherwise move my leg. And it was not a short episode, this went on for like 20 min. If I moved my leg in anyway it would just knot up again. That muscle was still sore a week later. Anyway, a few things, that week I ate considerably less, trying to lose weight, and I do have a problem of not drinking enough, but what I did different prior to this problem, I started eating a creatine bar every day. I read the other day that can be a side effect of creatine if not hydrated enough. Anyone else experienced this?

Morning routine.

Coffee, alternating with a glass of water in between cups, and posting the morning memes.

Then off to the shop, drinking water all day long.

Keeps your blood volume up, and obviously avoids cramping.

Also dehydration can lead to kidney stones.

Huh, that is interesting.  I've never done creatine.

How about something positive? I started to make a shift last summer but really put in an effort to for the most part last fall to do my best not to pay attention to things I have no control over. Mostly world and national news but also a huge effort in traffic.  Don't be constantly in a pissed off state about people tailgating me.

Being irritated,  outraged,  angry are negative emotions.  They are also sources of stimulation which my brain seems to  crave more then other  since I was a little boy.

I am also feeling more gratitude. Simple things like our comfy bed and having reliable ac and heat. But also the bigger things like my 2 granddaughters.

There is other stuff but this change has probably in part been due to watching my 93 year old mom age. I take her to her doctors appointments and she always shows genuine gratitude to the people who help her. She lives in the now not constantly in a state of regret or bitterness.

Creatine can really dehydrate a person.  I have issues with it, if I plan on riding my bike I won't take it for a day before and day of my riding.  It tends to cause my ankles to lock up and my fingers to get stuck cramping.

Go buy some Tums. I’m thinking you are lacking magnesium. After long days swimming, I’ve been woken up in the middle of the night with leg cramps that on a scale of 1-10 are, an 8.

It usually releases after about 15 minutes of taking two.
Now, on days I work out or, go swimming, I take one immediately after. Haven’t had issues since incorporating them with my usual post workout supplements of whey, creatine, glutamine, magnesium (Tums) and, casein before bed.

Edit: You have to drink a lot of water when taking creatine. It will dehydrate you. I drink as close to a gallon as I can get each day

Uhm, Creatine has nothing to do with positive or negative thinking

I could be wrong, but I don’t think he was saying that creatine is positive or negative brother. Just overall thinking in general.  positivity begets positivity.

Sorry if that was rude, I misread that as I wouldn't need to take creatine if my thoughts were more positive.

We're all good.

Speaking of leg cramps one of the best tips I have received from an orthopedic surgeon was if you ever have that common really bad cramp in the arch of your foot, you just pinch your achilles tendon and instant relief.

Most likely your electrolytes are off, look up LMNT on amazon. I like the citrus salt flavor. As far as creatine I'm not a big of that stuff, it spikes my liver enzymes.

Have you had major changes to your diet recently?
