It's interesting that in the 70's and 80's you did not see season after season domination by one rider.























I wish I would of been alive in the 80's... Seems like a cool era of the sport

Not angry, but the numbers just don't lie. RC was the outdoor champ for what, 10 years straight? Like someone else posted, Bubba has missed a lot of opportunities. I never said he was slow. I just said it is amazing he does not have more wins.

Tell me another pro athlete that came into a sport and had a 10 year run comparable to RC?

I really thought stewart might have had a chance, in 08 he was on a mission(hence the perfect season) Guess he lost the desire, interest etc? sx only, tv show, injuries, thats what makes RC records more impressive! This sport requires some luck also,RC said you make your own luck, and thats a great statement. preparation, desire, heart,luck,good equipment, etc! Stewart will go down as one of the all time greats, i really think he will lose interest within 2 years. He will make money on just his name within the industry if he choses to go that route. IMO MC s sx record and RC s all time record will stand!

RC was a veteran on a 450 when the 2 began to compete head to head,while Bubba was a raw rookie on a 250! People seem to forget how much experience RC had over Bubba. If the 2 started their careers at the sane time, RC's numbers would be lower and JS's would be higher.

RC spent the majority of his career not having to race James, and even than, an inexperienced James. Instead he racked up title after title over Windham year after year, as well as Dowd, and Reed, who had nothing for him indoors or out. You have to give RC credit, but those10 outdoor titles were against a less than stellar group IMHO. Reynard, Pastrana, Windham were wonderkids who where supposed to give him a run, but they never came close.

And James is only 10 wins behind him in SX. So really RC is only that much better outdoors not indoos. Plus james was a beast on a lites bike. Not one rider could touch james on the small bore, not one.

I really wish James would just put his head down and race everything for the next 3 years and see what he can come up with. I think his skill is there and would be for that length of time but I don't know if he would do it.

Watching Stewart and Carmichael outdoors in 06 and 07 was one of the greatest things I've enjoyed in what will 40 years this fall of watching pro MX. RC is the GOAT and Stewart gave him more than any other rider ever did. We can only wish we'd had a few more years of their careers crossing over, or that Kawasaki had built a decent bike in 05.

If TS means the initial question he said not including Regional SX. The 125 wins listed were 125MX, which is a National title.

Agreed 100%! I witnessed the above race in person and it was the stuff legendary history is made of...RC was a machine outdorrs never loosing a title on small or bigs...thats a stat in itself!
