I have always thought the SX-MX pecking order sorts itself out very early on in the year and stays that way. It wouldn't surprise me to see only JS and RV win races this year. With that said, we may have only seen a glimpse of what Canard can do on a 450!

I think your dead on Bobby M...So RD has matched damn near every comp in speed within tenths for awhile now including James, RV, CP, CR etc etc but somehow now he is riding better than before but just hasn't stepped up?

I suspect the human sponge is off and not the ladder..history, times, and logic all say so what would make one think otherwise?

My take on it : To me Dungey seemed a little off in PHX. He seemed a little off at A1 to be honest to......but still managed a second place.

From what I have seen by watching these first two rounds.....is he isn't 100% out there for some reason. I don't know why. Weather it's him or the bike.....or something else , I have no idea.

I disagree that he is just as fast as he was last year , or possibly even faster.

Last year he was really pushing it , and riding on the edge......this year , not so much. he seems to be riding in his comfort zone.

To me.....he looked a hair faster last year......but that's just my take on it.

Dungey is waiting and feeling out the series, lurking for the opportunity, he looks like he's literally just cruising around not even trying.

In my opinion, Dungey was a little spooked after the mid-air collision with Brayton and I cannot blame him. In addition, the Phoenix track did not lend itself to passing. These are the main reasons he did not make the podium. I think he will improve as the season progresses.

You might be right Jeff, I just don't think he is quite as fast as RV and JS (we are probably talking about tenths of a second though). I hope I'm wrong, it will make the season that much better. I do think starts and staying off the ground is going to have a lot to do with how the season plays out.

Two races in, Dungey has beaten every rider in the field except Villopoto and some of you are ready to write him off? I don't get it.

Well Stewart was always faster, and I would say RV is DEFINETLY faster and in better shape this year than he was last year, and Canard is the big surprise. I dont think there is anything wrong with Dungey at all. I just think Faster guys are on the track now.
Yep, it's over. Dungey's 9 points back after 2 races with only 15 races left, there's no way he can dig himself out of that hole. He can't be JS or RV straight up. He sucks and just got lucky last year. Give Stewart the trophy because Dungey has no shot. In fact, I hear the AMA is considering having Dungey give back his SX and MX championship hardware from last year because Stewart was unable to compete and we all know that had he been able to he'd have won both of those championships just as he has every year since 2005 when he graduated to the big bikes. They should at least bear minimum * Dungey's titles from last year because he didn't earn them, he just got lucky. Glad you're back R-acer to set these fools straight.

I don't doubt Dungey at all, he's a very consistent rider and that my friend will be a valuable asset this year.

X2. Makes no sense other than to say that some so-called fans on here have a personal dislike for Dungey for some reason.

he can win being a tenth or two off but almost a second is another story...I hope he Trey and CR can get that 5-7 tenths because then we are gonna see some serious History!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think you are correct here...

It all means that starts are more crucial than ever this year.
Agreed. If RV, Reed, Dungey, or Stewart start out front they are likely to win. All the others have a good chance of getting passed if they start out front.
