Are people aware that you won't be able to buy a gas-powered generator in California beginning in 2028? Or a lawnmower or leaf-blower?
Key Points of California’s Generator Ban
Law: California Assembly Bill 1346 (passed in 2021)
Goal: Zero emissions by 2035, 100% clean energy by 2045
Affected engines: Small off-road engines (SOREs), including gas generators
Ban starts: No more new gas generator sales in 2028
Main focus: Sales ban—not a ban on personal use
Here is an incredibly CA-friendly article about it (MSN, so of course it is):
Can you buy a gas grill in Cali?
Most of us in the foothills of Northern California just go to Reno for this stuff. And of course you can still buy used on Marketplace. Only city nerds listen to Newsom laws.
I’ll never own an electric mower, edger or blower! I’ll go out of state and be happy.
Uuuuuuuuuhhhh…….. this shit is so exhausting…..(pun intended) I’ve been dealing with title 24 a lot lately. Dipshits writing these laws don’t have a fucking clue. Zero, no wait, Less than zero real world experience.

We have a backup generator (that's why we haven't lost power in the last 3 years) it runs on gasoline, propane, or natural gas. I always run it on propane so I'll never have to deal with clogged jets in the carb. I keep enough propane to run for a few hours. If we had to run for days, I'd break down and run gasoline. But this shit is getting pretty stupid here in CA
I have a gas/lp one. I waited and waited for the power to go out, finally got to use it with the same mindset- run on LP only and never deal with the carb. Well, it hogs down the propane- freezes the line and the first time I ran out within an hour or so. Waited about an hr before I gave up and grabbed the gas can. Filled it, was almost full when I looked up and saw the outside light on the garage on. Son of a bitch! I just run non ethanol, hasn’t been a problem for years.
I installed an interlock device on my panel and then wired up a 50 amp breaker and an outlet outside. Did that over a decade ago and I have never used it. The longest the power goes out is about 3 hours.
CA CARB is curse.
Gas mowers were out.
Now Toro has a couple legal models. I am grabbing one as my 2 Honda powered engines are showing some age.
Same with smaller gas saws and blowers.
For Homeowner Chainsaws You can get STIHL MS 172s that replaced the outlawed 170’s.
For gas Blowers the Br 50s and 56’s are legal
All of the above is for now. They will screw it up.
Yes, until Gavin Newsom reads your post. Please delete it. 😬
Strangely enough, you can buy gasoline mowers in Arizona and bring them back to Cali. I wonder how long that will last.
On the subject of "people in charge" being complete idiots, Ca. isn't the only place that has lost it's fucking mind, I saw this today. UK "Scientists" have conducted scientific test to determine that the reason lobsters freak out and thrash around when they're thrown into boiling water is because it hurts... I wonder how much $ they spent on that research. Even better is the fact that they want to make it illegal to boil live shellfish.... help me out Manny, you can not make this shit up.

I remember back when I was a kid, the gave a grant to study why, when you spill coffee it leaves a stain. 🤣
SMH🤦♂️
I will say I've been using an electric weed whacker and it's so much better than gas. The gas ones suck- tempermental. And you obviously don't have to stop and fill the think up or mix gas.
WTF?
I've never cooked lobster, but crab and especially crawfish need to be alive before cooking. Floating crawfish is no good. Only dead ones float.
Our Gubenutorial race candidates do a good job of demonstrating our politcal challanges with regard to logical policies.
And also my ability to correctly spell gubernatorial 😂
I saw that at least you don’t have to worry about Swalwell anymore.🤦♂️
