Let me first start off with saying once again...I am SO THANKFUL & Happy that we have James back involved with the sport. I know he's been back for a little while now but I can't say it enough how awesome it is to have him involved in the sport. Announcing, doing podcasts, whatever it is. After having James totally disappear for several years, it is such a treat to have him back and we can never take him for granted ever again. He breaks things down and talks about the races like as if we're buddies hanging out. He doesn't pull any punches and doesn't have any agenda or worried about stepping on toes.
That all being said...I just watched his latest Rewind episode on Detroit and wanted to open the discussion here. I think he is spot on when talking about Hunter, Eli, & Roczen. Hunter came out of Jett's shadow this season showing what a badass he is and how fast he is. BUT he still has the beast man Eli Tomac to go against and even Roczen has proven to still have what it takes to win.
Eli came out guns blazing this season winning 4 of the first 8 races. But lately he's been dealing with something, possibly an undisclosed injury? He's not talking and nobody will know until all is said and done. One thing is for sure though...Eli has not been the same the last few weeks and that vulnerability has allowed Hunter and Roczen to compete for the championship title. I love how James spoke about how Eli had such a great opportunity to grab major points seeing Hunter having such a bad night, yet Eli struggled and both Eli and team KTM have to be wondering wtf is happening & can't let this train derail while holding on to the points lead.
The Wild Card here is Cooper Webb. He's 26 points out of the championship lead. BUT he's only 12 points away from 3rd in the title, and with 6 races remaining Eli could be dealing with an undisclosed injury, Hunter appears to not be injured from his falls but if nothing else has shown to be rattled to some degree. Cooper Webb will certainly make things interesting now that he's back in the title hunt and smells blood in the water. Roczen can win on any given Saturday night but will he stay consistent enough to be there at the end?

I just don't get why people feel the need to tell everyone shit like that. Like "just to let you know, I'm too busy to read your whole post. My time is too valuable, but I just had to let YOU know how busy I am".

What do I care about James' business? That's his and his contractor's mess to work out. It doesn't impact me watching the content. Vital people are such weird white night dorks sometimes.

I'm baulking at Webb being right back in the title hunt. There is 6 races left and hes got his ass handed to him all year by Eli, Hunter, and Roczen. Now Chase is back. Another dude faster than him when his head isn't up his ass. Smells blood in the water? The other guys made mistakes and he didn't even really capitalize on them. If anything he blew it by crashing out him and Jorge. Roczen still has a tough road being 14 down with 6 rounds and two guys ahead of him. Webb is 26 down with three guys ahead of him. This is a 3 rider battle. All Webb can do is help out one of those three to win
Webb would pretty much need to win out and still need some help, which we all know virtually won't happen. He can certainly make things interesting with the other 3 by getting some podiums though, maybe 1 win if things go right.
