I am looking for a new (used) bike. I know the 07-08's were good bikes. My intention was to go with an 07-08 at first. But lately I have noticed quite a few 09 CRF450's out there at decent prices. I have heard also that a lot of top guyd HATED the 09's. I certainly don't ride at the pro level but I do still track ride at a higher novice pace. My question is to those of you who know, Is the 09 Stock CRF450 a good bike or will I hate it generally speaking and why? What are the flaws?
Thanks in advance,

my 07 CRF450 is the best bike i've ever ridden. i've ridden the 09 kawi and suzuki, the 10 yamaha and ktm. the motor is by far the best and most usable for me, along with the handling and overall feel of the bike.

regular oil changes and maintenance and i've gone 60+ hours on the same top end.

my buddy has the 08 and it's a great bike as well.

same here.. I have 60+ hours on the original head. Rebuilding this winter, just to stave off any ti-valve related failures. 07 crf450. after I got 22mm clamps, it is awesome.

I have an 09 and like it. It has a yosh pipe which helps it pull a little further and a PC link arm which lowers the rear a bit. I think the bike is sick...

Just change the linkage and have the suspension done......(09)

I have owned both and '07 and now an '09. For me the '09 is a better bike due to the turning ability and overall smaller feel.

The '07 was reliable and I had 70+ hours of MX track and the valves were still in spec.

The 07-08 were better bikes. If you can find a used one with the original chain, sprockets and tires, snap it up.

I love my 07. Best bike I have ever ridden. The 09s feel like 80s to me.
