Can’t lie I’ve been really enjoying them! Hunters line essentially going three into the corner and using the berm as a landing was creative and clean. Also never ceases to impress me that the time through the sections is pretty evenly matched
It stops passes from happening in the corner and corners is where most passing happens. So a couple split lanes and a couple 90° turns and before you know it only a couple passing corners.
I think they’ve been working remarkably well this season. However tonight’s version was let down by having a 90’ corner afterwards, where any advantage gained was instantly lost the majority of the time.
Yeah, not sure what they were thinking. A 180 afterwards would have allowed riders to capitalize on any gains in the split lanes. As is you would have to get your entire bike ahead going into the turn. Not just a wheel. Didn’t see that happen.

Split lanes can be done well. See: Charlotte SMX 2023.
The keyword is lanes. There were no split lanes this weekend.

I liked it. It was very even, and some cool passes were made on the exit. Inside doubled out, outside tripled out. Made the next corner intersting.
I’m liking them. It’s a small section that rewards pure speed and reduces the need to ride defensively for a few seconds. As long as they don’t over use them, and keep making them fair.
I like them, gives the guys options
