I watched the race again and it was pretty apparent that that KX450 of RV doesn't corner for shit. JS passed him in the heat race because that KX450 didn't turn near as good as that Yamaha. I'm surprised i'm saying that since the Yami's aren't known for their turning prowess.

They better get that thing turning better, because he can't count on a hole shot every weekend.

RV tip toed through that corner. I think the cornering is mostly attributed to suspension set-up, ride height height f/r & balance. IMO Windham has the best cornering bike out there, he easily gets right up on the front wheel & brakes hard.

"RV tip toed through that corner"

Exactly! he knew that thing would wash out if he pushed it. He will need to push it at times this year to win the championship. They have some work to do on that thing.

Stewart corners faster. Thats was the differance in the heat. RV's bike turned just fine in the main when Stewart was stuck midpack.

RV got a great win. If Stewart gets more bad starts RV will get a few more W's.

That is very scary if RV had bike setup issues last night, no? He won a SX on a bike that won't turn for shit?

What happened in the heat race is RV was trying to qualify, not win the title in the first heat race. What happened in the main is that RV won. If you're telling me they can make the bike that much better in the coming weeks, that is not good news for everyone else. He's coming off a severely broken leg, was probably tentative and wanted to stay on two wheels. That is also scary because I think he has a lot more speed in the tank.

You do not get up front and stay up front if your bike "corners for shit".

Could it be that James is just a little faster in the corners?

I did notice that JS seemed to put the 7 anywhere he wanted in the corners compared to last year where he didn't look comfortable turning inside. If RV wanted more bite on the front in the corners Kawy could give it to him.

I'm sure they will get it worked out. RV has always been known for his good corner speed. That Kawi just didn't look to me that he felt confident that he could push it into the corners. It also looked like it wanted to stand up and not lay over in the corners..."IMO"

Stewart can make a bike look like the tires are glued to the ground. He must put more weight on the outside peg or something because he can turn without a rut faster then most people can when there in the perfect rut.
