It is no secret that engine builders can extract more power from a 4 valve motor. Don't see 5 valves on their new 450.

Merely perception. Tomac appears to be a gear lower and revving a few thousand rpms higher. Listen to the difference in the pitch of the motors.
+1 Eli has that thing reving like a 2 stroke. Almost.

I wouldn't necessarily say that the Star bike looks slow, its just that the FCR bike is a beast and Eli is flying.

Grant looks like he is taking it uncharacteristically "easy", wonder if he maybe wasn't the "injured championship contender" everyone was wondering about???....

I did not read that as a personal jab at all. I think you might be starting your period.

(that's a little jab) Get used to it.

Cunningham-sandwich... seat bounce by the ounce!

jeff
Don't mention seat bounce on here.

And to all you engineers have you thought that they might be running totally different gearing!

By the way, is this going to be the year for Kyle Cunningham? Podium, Top 3 finally? The kid came packed with potential but has had a pretty rough experience as a pro.

Didn't Osterman pick him out of the B class the year Decoster picked Dungey?

Difference in style,
Kyle's style is playing a huge role in how that bike looks. His style is not even close to Eli's...

dude, Alan Brown built those motors.....trust me they are insanly fast. and im not just saying that because he used to me my boss. the man is talented and has been doing this for a long time. how many holeshots did you see Kyle Lewis take in his career? some say his motors can be faster than factorys. and he has built a ton of people's motors that they keep on the DL

trust me the bike is not the problem for that team

DeCoster didn't discover Dungey

Kyle's bike does not sound as crisp as Tomac's. In fact, I think Kyle's bike sounded like shit. Its just a practice bike though.

I know one thing, if they were racing that track Tomac would definitely later Kyle. That section before that flat straight Tomac had a waaay faster line!

Lol, you guys are funny! I ask a simple question and you all get upset because a mod made you feel bad about yourself or something. You'll need a skin just a tad thicker than that if you want to play here because if you think the few words I said were bad, just wait until some of the old vets get hold of you lol.

rbm: since when are moderators not allowed to take a jab at someone? Btw, it wasn't a "personal" jab like you say. I didn't mention anything about his family, friends, looks etc. and never will. (and if I ever see anyone else talking smack about someone's family etc it's instant "click".) Am I supposed to sit here and just watch over you guys to make sure the big kids don't tease you and steal your lunch money?

I'll answer both questions: #1: never
#2: not on your farking life.

Ok, carry on. You guys hijacked this thread enough.

Its no secret Yamaha 5valves are under powered. If you guys really think the Star Yamaha bikes are on the performance level as a Geico Honda or PC Kawi you are smoking the good stuff. Great proof will be shortly when tickle puts that kawi first race well inside the top 5 consistent and often.

there's a reason Tickle told ping that the PC bikes were so fast it was like "cheating"
