Garage Wall Mounting for Bike Storage

I’m looking into solutions to mount up a couple of bikes up on my garage wall for display. I’d like to utilize the space up on the wall and get the bikes lifted up off the ground. I’d be interested to hear or see what some of you guys have done for your retired collection bikes that are displayed or just to keep some lesser used bikes tucked up and away off the floor. I’ve seen these guys at https://www.bear-bones.com/shop but not sure I want to shell out $3000 just yet. I’d appreciate the help, thanks!

I think it depends how pretty you want the mounts to be.

Just some steel box section welded up with a plate will work (like above). Powder coat for a nice finish. Then use a chemical fixing to bond steel rods into the wall (assuming concrete block), an extremely strong method that will easily handle a 90-100kg MX bike.

Those look great, but I’m no welder. Do you think this is doable with wood instead of metal? I’d think some sort of similar shaped design in wood is able to support an MX dike long term, no? My garage is drywall with wood studs underneath. Doesn’t have to be showroom pretty.

I wouldn't like to say to be honest!

Did you ever find a solution @Lillefty27 ? Looking for the same type of mount for a display bike.

I’d suggest it’s the attachment to the wall, and the strength of the wall that is the trickiest issue. Pretty easy to make the stand strong enough.
As suggested above - chemset bolts into a concrete wall should be fine.

Lifting the bike is the next trick - easy enough with forklift access and availability

No I sort of gave up on it. My garage is nowhere ready for this anyways; I got other remodel plans to do first.

Invest in a fork lift first.

My dad helped his friend hang this 50 up. All 3 of his boys started racing on this exact bike. IMG 0724 3
