I was looking on X at the entry list. Noticed Charlie Tolleson listed in the 450 class. Charlie is from Crosby, Tx.
My home track is Ultimate MX in Alvin, TX. Where I ride during the week. On the weekends I ride MX2.0, out east of town halfway between Houston and Beaumont.
Charlie rides MX2.0 sometimes. He was parked next to me one day at MX2.0. Really nice guy and pretty dang fast. He has a crawfish, seafood restaurant in Dayton, Tx not to far from MX2.0. Supposed to have good food. I’m going to take the wife and eat there one of these days.
Hope Charlie does good and makes the main.
Any privateers local to where any of you guys ride in the the Arlington show.

As large as the Houston Metroplex is, would think we’d have more Houston/surrounding area riders racing at supercross/outdoor MX level. We have 4 tracks in the area, 5 counting Splendora which is starting to open up.
Ya got to be good to get to the big show.
Carter Malcolm. Colorado boy. 1st time at the big show.
John Short, Cheyenne Harmon, Scotty Wennerstrom, Josh Cartwright, Rider Floyd, Henry Miller, Grant Harlan...and more. All local to the Arlington area as well...
Hayes Edwards (Colin's Son) is from Conroe just north of Houston. His dad has an MX Training facility in Conroe and built a Houston replica track too. Several Houston pro's out there training. Hayes first SX race was Dallas. Qualified 29th. Crashed hard in the first turn in Heat 1. Caused the restart. Ended up getting up and made the restart but was pretty beat up.
Lane Shaw rides at Ultimate sometimes. He also trains at TTMX in Conroe too.
I used to park with James Weeks at Florida tracks and trails 10 years ago. If they would’ve had a national there you would’ve thought he would podium it.
Being in FL I’ve been lucky enough to see the Factory KTM team snd others at Croom on weekdays after a nice rain, skipped school to ride with Jason Lawrence at a friends private track around 2012ish, also saw him at Dade City a few times, Dean Wilson also made an appearance at my friends track. Seen the Chisholm brothers a million times at Tampa MX. Used to lean our bikes on the fence line at Croom and watch the GEICO team practice on the SX track next door.
We are frequently told that anyone who enters and makes the show would smoke a local race. I do believe that, but I wonder if you guys can elaborate on this further, confirm it's true or mildly true, etc.
Coming from New Zealand, it's hard to have context for the lower echelon guys. Hopefully, they will have a bit more relatability to us non-pros, over-the-hill guys, etc.
You should ask them if the AMA explained the blinking red "leader lights" in the riders meeting. Lol.
Post a reply to: Any privateers in the Arlington show that ride at your local track or tracks you ride.
