Fucking thieves man. Someone stole Jake’s Ford Maverick that has been converted to his disabilities. Be on the lookout in Dallas.

WTF! A special place in hell for the absolute scum who did this.

I hope your bro is doing well with his recovery journey. Obviously I hope his truck is found and returned ASAP!

Was seeing if anyone had any suggestions. The old man has been in contact with AR&T stadium and they are telling him that they don’t have any accessible seating this year? Does anyone have a contact to get wheelchair accessible seats that we can get purchased for Jake?

2 1/2 years ago I had a new Silverado stolen in broad daylight in the front row of UT Southwestern hospital while at a Dr appointment. Right near a security camera that showed all of it. The thieves took about 90 seconds total to steal it. Didn't even break a window to gain access. They disabled the OnStar satellite system in that 90 seconds before even driving off with it. They used 2 vehicles and their was a total of 4 people involved. Only one got out and did the theft. They were pros. Dallas SUCKS. Cops didn't care, had to call them 5 times over 4 1/2 hours to get one to respond. They never contacted me as they said they would.

So if it happened in Dallas, it's just an insurance claim. So sorry this happened to him. I pray that it works out to get another one.

What do they mean by they don’t have any “this year”?  It clearly states on their website that there is accessible and companion seating on all levels and I would like to believe that they would bend over backwards to make sure disabled people can attend any event. I would keep calling until I got to speak to a competent person that could give me a logical reason for why or why not.

From my Dad..They said all the wheelchair accessible seating was sold out. Told me to buy tickets in the section we wanted and then the day of the race find a worker and see if they can move us. Doesn’t sound right…
On stub hub they have semi ambulatory but those are not wheelchair accessible.

Jake and the old man left this morning to Medellin, Columbia for his first stem cell transplant. If you're the praying type, we'll take your prayers that this helps stop his spasms and helps him regain control of his nervous system with minimal pain. He will have it everyday this week and fly back this weekend

Awesome news! Wish they would try these treatments here and cover them under insurance!

It’s been a while since I’ve shared an update on Jake, so here it is — and man, time really does fly. I wish there were more to report, but for now Jake is still mostly in his wheelchair. He can get around with a walker, and while it may not look pretty, it’s still badass as hell in my book.

He just started a new job last week as a flight scheduler for Life Flight, which means he’s officially back in the work saddle after two years. Huge milestone. He also trains at the Adaptive Training Foundation in Dallas, and that place has been such an incredible opportunity for him — surrounded by some of the most hardcore, resilient people out there.

One thing that often goes unnoticed unless you’ve lived it: how much harder everything becomes when you’re disabled. The simplest daily tasks turn into obstacles. And yet, Jake is honestly one of the most positive people I’ve been around since his injury, which is nothing short of astonishing. I’m beyond proud to call him my brother.

Now for the frustrating part. Why is it so hard to find accessible seating for the Dallas Supercross? We’ve been looking for months, still nothing, and usually just get the runaround. At this point, we just bought normal seats and hope they’ll let him move into the ADA section once we’re there — which means showing up and basically pleading just to watch a sport we love.

Why should people with disabilities have to deal with extra stress, barriers, and awkward situations just to attend an event? It shouldn’t be this hard. I really hope this changes in the future, because honestly… it sucks.

I brought his rmz450 up to Colorado and it’s a clean ride. Neken front setup with 250 forks. Was Kyle Chisholm’s outdoor bike. Still gotta hang up one of his plates in the casa.

Anyways see yall at the Dallas supercross!

Thank you for the update, very much appreciated. I hope going forward things get easier and easier for Jake. Hopefully things go way better than you expect at the Dallas SX. Glad to hear he’s back working again too…

On the question about facing these extra challenges as a disabled person… It’s literally because the people that pray the most (the evangelicals) vote for the party that will do absolutely anything to make sure they hurt anyone who is underprivileged if it means bigger profits for big business.

If given the choice a business will not comply with ADA so it’s up to the gov to make sure it’s enforced… and remains current…

This shouldn’t be a political thinks but the rights of people with a disability (like me) to access society hinges on politics.
