ANklesavers.com ...anyone use these?

Edited Date/Time 1/25/2012 4:15am
http://www.anklesavers.com I'm interested in these. Never broke my ankles and don't plan on it but I have been doing alot more ramp riding lately. Are these suckers strong? I'm 6'3" and 200lb plus. Just looking at them they seem like a good idea. Looks like u wouldn't land flatfooted but they would "catch" your heel if you went too far down....Turbo

The latest Dirt Rider did a review on these and they liked em. I'm going to get a pair, even though I don't have any ankle or achilles injuries-yet. Anything to hurt less being 1 month away from 48-m%@!&fucker.

I am a new Vet rider and just installed them on my bike. Rode a couple of times and they seem to help a "new" rider like myself. They seem to be very well made and heavy duty.
Ditto that the owner, Tom Crain was very helpful and pleasant to deal with.

They're great! Owner is one of the nicest guys you will meet. He will be at some of the supercrosses.

I'm just about to buy a set, I just 3 weeks ago broke my tib/fib from an over extending of my ankle. Being in a full leg cast sucks lots.

I wonder if they would restrict movement too much while riding on the balls of your feet. Cause a problem in the whoops perhaps?

I know of a few pro's that ran them at the Super X down under. They felt that they could get further back and more comfortable through the whoops than if they werent using them. This was one of the main reasons for using them.

Those are the first one's that were retro fitted to the original peg. He's made a couple different versions of them and has the final one coming out very shortly. The look and function very well and does not hinder you in any way while riding.

Thanks everybody for your interest in Ankle-Savers. My good friend and business partner Tom Crain came up with these and as MxDad140 said he's been through several versions and continued to improve on the design. We currently have every caliber rider from National Pros to Vets to Mini riders using these pegs with great success. In fact, everyone who tries them claims now they won't ever ride without them.

MxDad140 mentioned earlier that there is a New version coming out soon. For a sneak peak of those go to www.gomotoinnovations.com. This is our new website and still under construction so you can't buy the pegs on that site yet. You'll still need to go to www.anklesavers.com to purchase. But it will give you a good idea of where we're going with the product. Also look for us at all the East Coast SX this year. We have an announcement coming soon on a couple of riders that will be riding the lites class for us. So stay tuned......
If you have any questions about Ankle-Savers feel free to contact us at info@motoinnovationsllc.com. See you at the races...

Those look like they would help a lot in the whoops when trying to hangoff the back!! I'm past my prime(biils to pay, injuries etc), can some of you fast kids out there elaborate on this?

I have been running them for several months now. One of the best things I can say about them is that I have never even noticed they were there.

Until you need them (really hard landing etc.) they are out of the way. It's refreshing to see a new product that isnt a freaking gimmick. I wouldn't doubt it if soon these pegs are factory on everyones bikes.

They are that good.

I don't have many rides on my set yet and haven't had to "test" them with a hard landing but I agree with the others that state they disappear under normal riding. So far they are great, wish I would have had them when I did this!

I was thinking the same thing after reading Racerhead. L&M says they are testing an out of the box product and might use it on the race bikes.....

Any idea on when the new model will be out, this is a great idea.. i just over extended my ankles just last week, not from a hard case tho, just from misplaced feet on peg, in a weird situation, this definately would have stopped it from happening!

The New design will be in full production next week with the first sets being shipped near the end of January.

We have a couple of our Pro riders that will be using the New design next weekend at the AX Tour event in Jackson, MS.

Will do.. We should be ready to start taking pre-orders for the New design sometime next week.

And yes the New design is Cast Stainless Steel. It'll be all one piece with no welds. We're very excited about this next generation.
