Looks like Pourcel might have a ride?!

Unfortunately because of Weimer's broken arm. Who thinks it'll happen?

Sure would be nice if Pourcel could get this ride. What would Kawasaki do with Weimer when he healed up in 5-6 weeks if they hired Pourcel?

Hard to say. Money will be an issue I'm sure. Also, with less than 2 weeks to got, it would be tough for him to get comfortable on the bike that quickly, but I'm sure he could pull it off.

Too bad for Weimer. Oh well, now he can ease into the 450s without anyone noticeing.

I have had that break before, it shouldn't be too bad unless he broke it in a weird way or compounded it. I hope he makes a fast recovery.

Fill-in rides generally don't pay hardly anything. If Pourcel wouldn't sign for half of what RV and RD are making why is he suddenly going to race for free?

I thought Pourcell spent most of his time practicing on a 450 last year .

From his interviews Pourcel mostly practiced on 450s. But the other elephant in the room besides money is the fact that he just got out of rehab a few weeks ago. I haven't even read a report of him riding a bike yet.

I don't think he will be back in 5 to 6 weeks. Not saying that it's not possible, but it wouldn't be worth it. They will more than likely keep him out until the outdoor series.

BTW: I don't believe they will hire CP. They might pick a temporary filler on that will ride for expenses (like Wey last year) but budgets are to tight to hire another rider.

The best rider for the job should get it. Who cares where they're from. In motorsport I want to see the best of the best, on the best equipment.

I've had that fracture before. Well only one bone, Wasn't too serious, he should be back in about two months depending on how bad it was broken.

Albertson will be more than happy to ride for that team for expenses.

Wow, lots of speculation here.

This is mostly something to be figured out by Monster and Kawasaki.

I'm sure come A1 both Kawi and Monster will want 2 bikes on the track.

IMO Kawi would be mad not to offer CP a bonus structure and CP would be mad to refuse. Sitting out a year is not going to help his 2012 negotiations.

But that's just my opinion. Either way I can't wait for A1 Woohoo

Build Weimer another bike if Pourcel is making podiums. That is if he takes the ride. Few planets to align yet for that to happen.

Maybe he should get his own French ride, and have them pay the bill for his racing here.

It amazes me that Americans bitch about us outsourcing jobs to India when they want support for their PC, but they dont give a shit if we outsourced every motocross job.............

Ever wonder why Indy Car died? The normal fans had no idea who all the foreigners racing it were.

Normal fans have no idea who the hell CP is. Nor do they care, nor are they buying anything he's wearing.

People on here are NOT the 70 grand in a Huge stadium.

Pretty sure 377 does not want to be a "fill in"...kawi will want someone that they dont have to pay much and can be dropped when jake comes back.. maybe one of the ti lube guys..kinda like they did with tricky nicky last year

Indy Car never died. It's what we have now. The ORIGINAL death of American open wheel was caused by Tony George (owner of Indianapolis 500 and the track) being a prick and the team owners in CART being pricks right back. Tony had the right to the Indy 500 so with that power he created his own series. Once both sides, 13 years later, decided it was a dumb decision they quit being butt hurt and realized it would be easier if they just had one series again. Foreign drivers never had anything to do with it. Some went with IRL and some went with Champ Car depending on teams and series. One became more oval focused while the other became more of everything. Road courses, street courses, ovals...

When American Open Wheel was split in to two series, right before that, it was nipping at the heels of popularity in the U.S. with NASCAR. The split ruined that. Foreign drivers were there before the split.
