Hello Vitards…I haven’t posted here in a long time, but I have some project bikes taking up garage space. I would like to offer them up here for sale before I send them to an auction house.
1986 YZ 125: Best offer over $2,000
This bike is a true survivor! It still has most of its original everything, even handlebars, grips and tires. The engine is internally disassembled, but the prior owner assembled the cases/cylinder in the frame to make it a display piece. I have the engine parts.
1988 YZ 250: SOLD
This bike is in exceptional survivor condition. I last started it about 10 years ago, and it fired up and ran fine. The cracked left side radiator is the worst cosmetic issue, but I have a set of aftermarket shrouds (new in the package) to go with it. I also have an additional seat, Clarke gas tank (brand new in box), and maybe a fender that can go with it if the price is right.
1990 Cagiva/Husqvarna WMX 125: SOLD
I call it the “Cagivarna” because it is the transition year where the 1989 Cagiva and 1990 Husqvarna were the same bike, just different graphics. I bought it as a project and was told that it ran. However, I have never attempted to start it. If you are into these bikes, you know that the hard-to-find parts alone are worth my asking price.
1994 ATK 406: SOLD
The bike is in pretty decent shape. I started it about 10 years ago, and it fired up and rode surprisingly well. I have an extra 1996 frame for it. The exhaust pipe has a big dent, but new ones were still available last time I checked. A good Rotax engine is probably worth my asking price alone.
1997 KX 125: $2,500
I bought this bike brand new in September 1996, and it is in great survivor condition. I never put a ton of hours on it because I started racing 250’s shortly after I bought it. It only ever had one top end installed, and I think it still has the original brake pads. I have a few extra hard-to-find NOS parts lying around that go with it. It would make a great Pro-Circuit tribute bike if someone were looking to go that route. The bike has some sentimental value, so I am somewhat firm on the price.
2004 Suzuki DR-Z 400E: SOLD
I bought this bike about 14-15 years ago, but rode it very little. It has an Ohio street title, as the “dirt” version was more desirable for street use because the engines ran a little better (no smog BS on them). It ran fine when I parked it about 10 years ago. I did put a new water pump seal in it years ago, as that was a common fail point on these bikes. Other than that, the bike was super reliable. It has a dead battery right now.
Serious buyers only! Reach out to me, and I can provide more photos and even do a facetime walk around of the bike while discussing everything about it. I would prefer to talk (voice vs just text) and encourage serious buyers to come and inspect the bikes in person. I feel the bikes are fairly priced, but I can give a better deal to anyone who would like to buy multiple or all the bikes. Again, let’s not waste eachother’s time if you are not serious. Located in Northeast Ohio. Appointment only. Thanks!

Good fucking deal for the Drz.
Glws
If you were closer, I'd be all about that ATK.

Damn good deals here!
I thought about that. He probably wouldn't be interested, but I guess I have nothing to lose by trying.
He’s a chiseler will low ball you then try an sell them for triple
That's good to know if true. From what I saw on You Tube he makes it sound like a Motorcycle Empire that only settles for the very best and has very deep pockets and could afford to pay up for bikes.
Has anyone on here or anyone you know sold or bought bikes from Kaplan up in New England in the past?
That sounds about right, haha. But that is how you make money in that business.
I did reach out to Restorationcycles, but I figure that will probably be the same situation. But he seems to specialize in 1980's YZs, so maybe he will be interested in my '86 and '88.
The Cagiva is SOLD. All others are still available. Will entertain reasonable offers.
Thanks!
KHI GUY in NE OH? I’m in NE OH as well. I’m interested in DRZ.
Thanks for doing business with me! 👍
The ATK, DR-Z and YZ 250 are sold. Someone got a nice package deal. 😉
YZ125 and KX125 are still available. The YZ is a 1986 time capsule with original bars, grips, levers, and tires. The KX would make a great Pro-Circuit build, and I have a lot of new OEM parts that can go with it.
