so my 2nd ever post (both while driking) zero research
I just listened to Pulp Fantasy for round 3 & I believe Dan Truman said Justin Cooper has the most passes this season. I agree Justin usually starts in the front so rare for him to move up & congrats BUT with ZERO research I would argue Chase has the most passes in 2 races. again zero research working off drunk memory so flame away...
You would be correct Chase has passed 24 riders in the first two and Justin 20......Pretty easy to look up on the SMX website as in the results they list the hard charger.....
To be fair, I was going off first lap positions. I knew it was close. Based on first lap positions in the main events, J-Coop actually had more passes than Chase. Chase had a few falls, which meant he had to pass the same riders more than once. Either way J-Coop has passed a lot of people and that was my point.
Does this information actually get tracked accurately? Just going off the difference of first lap and finishing position potentially misses a lot.
I’d love for this to be an official stat, and have an extra main event point given to the highest number rider

I just ran a query in my database that looked at raw passes made, looking at the lap by lap positions rather than just the start - finish number. These are the guys with the most passes so far this season in the 450 class. 13 of Roczen's 17 came at A2. This query starts with the first lap position, not the holeshot line position.
Here is the same thing but adding the holeshot line position as lap 0.
