I don't doubt that one bit! And it just solidifies my point that the sport has progressed to a point where ALL the athletes should be properly compensated and not have to worry about being able to cover their entry fee (an "entry fee" is ridiculous, btw). With the promotion not paying enough to cover even a small percentage of B-Ray's costs, the motivation cannot be money related for anyone but the top 10 factory guys. Maybe it's not a fair comparison, but I always think about a professional football or baseball player having to reach out to fans or sponsors to cover their "game entry fee" or equipment costs in order to make it to the next game. It's crazy to me that this sport has not evolved to a point where the athletes, all of them, are compensated fairly. Anyway, back to the topic...congrats to B-Ray and his awesome ride and video!

I can understand an entry fee so there's some barrier to keep guys with no shot at qualifying from showing up just so they can say they got to ride the track or be there, but it should absolutely be refunded for guys that make the night show. That's not much of an ask for compensation for filling the gate for a heat and lcq.

Gary Plaatje (RIP buddy!!!!) and many of the Sierra and Bay chapter leadership made sure the clubs helped him out with (iirc) a bike and gear on occasion. He was smoking me on his 85. Same deal with Enzo Temmerman back in the day at DT1. He didn't need the same support as BRay but even on a 65 you could see how stupid fast he was, and it was clear that barring injury he was going to make it Pro. BRay had a much tougher row to hoe and it's so cool to see him making the mains now.
