A bunch of people penalized for making too much noise, and one for not making enough noise.

Someone enlighten me why they took away 3 championship points from Prado for failing sound test (which is dumb anyways btw) but not handing out any licensed points to any of the riders, even though they made an extra line for "technical" regulations in the new rules. Am I dumb or is that just AMA being AMA? 
3 points also seems harsh considering a lot of the riders/teams didn't seem to be really prepared for the sound test lol.

You're talking about two totally separate issues....what you posted is the new rule that deducts license points (much like FIA does in F1) for rider on track infractions. 

Per the 2026 rulebook on page 69 section 3.1.10 (a) below is the rule that Prado got hit with. 

"Technical Violations 

Post-Qualifying Maximum Sound Fast Time Disallowed Post-Race loss of 3 Points"

Did you think it was Kitchen you were trying to run off the track?

I initially was questioning the same but then noticed the other ones were during qualifying while Prados was after the race. Hence they lost fast lap qualifying and he lost race points. Definitely seems like a harsher penalty but don’t know what else they would do?

Ever work with anyone who knows exactly when their call ins were and when they fall off for them? And you can guarantee they'll be calling in sick as soon as one drops off? That's what this is. If you gotta get 15 points in a 12 month period before you get a penalty with an actual consequence and the max penalty is 3 points for any one event, this is basically a written permission slip to launch guys over berms at smx for most guys. I hope someone in the media makes it their shtick to tell these guys on press day hey you've only got 2 license points you're good to take someone out tomorrow lol

AMA has no clue. We don't need new rules, we just need them followed properly
