Why the funny looks? I just ordered one last week. Should be here in the next week or so. I am excited to wear something compared to my Astar A1 I've been running forever. The older I get, the more protection I keep wearing. 😂

Same the older i get the more protection i want.. as ive spent months on the sidelines recovering from injuries and it sucks.. anyhow the looks i get i assume are from people who have never seen it before or they think im a overprotected squid.. one or the other lol.

here is my C class review of it.

- I really like being able to adjust the air pressure on the front and back pieces. Because i was racing with sore ribs one time because i crashed without it on (dumb day for me choosing to ride without it). So instead of running it at max psi (before the valve releases the pressure).. i took about 2 psi out and it made the protector more malleable against my ribs. Thus being protective and reducing pain.

- The spine protection on the back is really nice and you can feel bubble against your back its kinda re assuring without being uncomfortable.

- I took a big ass rock to the top right and it didnt hurt.. i tried to dodge the rock that spun up off a 450 tire.. obviously didnt move in time and it just bounced off.

- Its not hot either, some people are more sensitive to heat from gear. But for me a non issue.

- When i broke my shoulder, this thing really saved my back and ribs and the smaller muscles.

- shipping was from DHL and i got it from overseas in 3 days without paying extra, which was badass

Here is a photo of the back side of it.

I've got the original version.  Its very protective, but I've been wearing it less for no real reason other than I like the way my fresh gear looks.

Should probably put the damn thing back on.

I got one of the first ones from Shenzi on here probably 20 years ago. You had to inflate it with a pump.

If you pay close attention you’ll notice most motocross deaths come from blunt force trauma to the  torso.   That’s the exact reason I wear mine.    I’m not complaining about the airbags all the way down the back along your spine either.    You know what’s uncomfortable?
Wheelchairs.

Tried one a year or so ago. My take was it was heavy, hot and stiff. Been very happy with the alpinestar A4 max but the tech air has my eye for the next one.

Had the original RXR also.  Wore it maybe twice and gave it to a friend who gave it to somebody else ...it was hot , bulky and the opposite of comfortable and I was already used to wearing chest protectors such as the the old HRP flak jak so it's not like I was used to riding with nothing.

The original was like wearing a life preserver.

I’ve been wearing RXR for several years and will likely continue to do so. Very comfortable, with no restrictions on shoulder movement, while offering great protection. Probably hotter than a traditional chest protector, but I’ve gotten used to it and don’t notice it anymore.

Used one since 2019. Had a hellacious crash in which I lawn darted into the face of a double with the bike pounding me into the ground, and feel like the RXR did me well. No internal injuries, some bruising on the top of my chest where my neck brace IMO saved me from a much worse injury. Highly recommend the RXR.

Cheers,

Simon

Same. It was definitely 2004 when my son had one.

You are NOT wrong !!
I spent the last 25 years without any chest protection and have gotten lucky. I have injured my back and neck, but I don’t think anything could’ve prevented my injuries.

I have the cyb-r. As mentioned it is a little warmer than traditional and slightly bulkier/heavier, but nothing I didn't get used to quickly. Thankfully I haven't tested its durability. I question the foam portions of it in the woods, seems like it could be torn easily but after a year of moto it's holding up well.

I'm glad to see positive reviews. I went from the Leatt 4.1, I think it's called, then to the A1, and soon the RXR. It made its way stateside, but is stuck in Tennessee due to customs issue. No idea what that is about, but hopefully it'll arrive here soon.

The RXR is now available directly from the US, too late for you now, but you don’t get the customs hassle.

I got 2 last week from them for my kids, they do like wearing them which is good because they haven’t found any that are comfortable before.

I got one using their sizing specs online, unfortunately it kept getting pushed up into the back of my helmet. Epicly made and I wished it worked out for me. Had to sell it, Ive settled on an AStars A4 Plasma.
