Best are to stay in Indy?

We'd like to grab a few drinks after the race. Looking at either Soldier and Sailors area, or up by the canal. Looking to walk to and from Lucas.

I always stay at the Embassy suites and go to Yard House, which is right across the street.

I stay at the JW Marriott. Easy walk to the stadium along with all of the bars and restaurants. Rooms are good and the rates can be pretty reasonable.

Don't know how long you'll be in town, but The Original Pancake House is about 15-20 minutes out of downtown and the food there has been great when we go.

The Baby German Baby Pancake is amazing - looks like it will put you in a coma, but it's light and fluffy

I think the ommelettes use 4 (!) eggs, are giant sized and include a couple of pancakes on the side.  Ommelette is light and fluffy - they bake it to finish it.  I stuff myself 'cause I don't want to leave any on the plate.
