Nothing to do with whether it was right or wrong.
The picture used on many of the online stories caught my eye. They show what appear to be drones and containers on the deck of the ship, or at least it ‘may’ be the deck of the ship. The more I look at it, the less sure I am of exactly what the picture is of. The drones and containers are clearly there, but are the stories just using a random, stock image of a dock/pier instead of the actual tanker, or does the tanker actually carry this sort of stuff topside?

I saw that too. I assume it's just click bait. I don't think they're even supposed to carry pistols much less drones.
I can’t find it now, but one of the pictures that I saw yesterday or the day before actually looked like it had aircraft (appeared to be drones) being stored on deck nearly vertical, between a couple of containers. Very strange looking, almost like it was a plastic airplane that a kid had placed on his toy boat.
It looks like a drone on a semi flatbed trailer at a container shipyard. Really hard to be sure though.
This video explains that picture, or type of ship very well, and the channel is well respected in the shipping industry.

Curious about the title.? Yet it goes off about weapons on-board a ship.
Trump illegally seized a foreign flagged vessel.( foreign flag as not a US flagged ). That is a act of piracy and can be charged as a criminal.
To then take the cargo and sell it adds more to the criminal act.But the White House is saying the monies generated from the sale of the oil at market Value will be used to help the city of Venezuela …..Ya right.
Trump is a criminal,a pirate.
Not if they're sanctioned vessels. They're are not supposed to be operating at all.
Thanks! Never seen that before. Obviously the picture being used in a story about this tanker was a case of using the wrong picture.
One of the oil tankers seized was not even a sanctioned vessel
You talking about one of them that changed it's name and flag suddenly?
It decided it wanted to identify as a different oil tanker, it has always had that "feeling" since it was a young tanker but decided to come out when it had US military ships chasing it....
No, I believe it was the second one that they seized but don’t quote me on that, it wasn’t the one they were chasing for a while though.
How about you hold off on "for sure" responses on the topic if in fact you're not so sure?
I dunno what ship is which in the grand scheme of the last few days; but, the pic in the OP shows UAVs and their mobil launch systems. I saw a very similar picture not too long ago as part of a a paper on Chinese cargo ships being converted to specialized transports for these military systems and the implications of potential targeting of these vessels when being utilized for military applications during or leading up to a conflict.
Exciting stuff. Not. 🤣
