Hey old guys. Just finished watching Sidewinder 1 on YouTube. Cheesy? Oh yeah.
Corney? You bet. But 49 years later it was a blast to view again. Even used Larry Huffman
as the announcer. Motocross was in its first decade here in the US at this time. We had Maico,
CZ, Montesa, CamAm and the like out there on our MX tracks way back then. DeCoster was filmed in one scene.
I had just graduated high school and turned18 when I first saw this film. What about all you?
More of a Seventy Times Seven type of guy myself, to be honest.
A lot of that was filmed at the “Big Dig” in Albuquerque. I was in high school there at the time and would ditch school to go and watch filming as well as being in a couple scenes. BTW… not a great movie. LOL
As a kid at the time, I thought that blue Maico with the mag wheels and disc brake was so cool.
