Every vehicle today is assembled using parts from other countries.

Remember not long ago vehicles almost stopped production because of lack of chips.

Everyone works the loopholes. For example, the company I work for makes a small widget where we normally buy the main body from a US vendor, then we do some stuff to it, then sell the assembly to China, but due to the tariff war, we now buy that main body from Australia, which allows us to sell our "Made In Australia" product to China without getting hit by the tariff. Wheeeeee!

Tariffs are fucking retarded and they make businesses do retarded things.

My company (because of the tariffs) is moving all US based customer production from Canada and Austria back to the US (WI). For international customers production will continue in Canada and Austria..

To do this my company will be investing $200M refurbishing our facility here in WI. In addition we will be hiring 500 very well paying jobs.

Without Trump this wouldn’t have happened..

A lot of countries sell their shit so cheap that we will by it. Many of these companies are subsidized by their own government. Many times they will reduce their price so the final price to the consumer is still the same. Some things, that won't happen, we'll pay a higher price. Who gets to keep those funds? Our government. However if the push back from the consumers show they will not pay the higher price, or the country cannot lower their price, they will move manufacturing to our country. We are too big of a market to abandon. They will spend money to build factories (good jobs for American workers). Those factories will need to be outfitted with equipment (sales to American companies that make manufacturing equipment + more jobs for Americans), And then those factories will need to be populated with people, American jobs. So in the short term we will experience pain, but long term we need to do this. We have gotten spoiled with cheap shit at cheap prices.

Yes, we all know CNN is the place to go for objective, quality coverage of President Trump's policies and actions. All you have to do is read the intro to see where that piece will be going. CNN is trash.

I should have added an asterisk, for our domestic customers, we still buy that part domestically.

Also, tariffs are an anti-capitalist tool. Businesses buy cheaper stuff elsewhere because they are free to do so, and they don't care if that hurts people's feelings. Tariffs are exactly the equity in that lefty image showing equity versus equality, making America that sad little guy on the right that can't compete...

Pretty sure the last people I’d be consulting about tariffs would be CNN. (It’s like calling the Stark dealership to get advice on fixing your 01 CR 250.)

But, people live and breathe on those networks. 🙄

Thing that interested me is why 1920’s tariffs and the Great Depression happened when America was BOOMING for the rich while the rest of Americans were unemployed and starving.

A lot of people point to the Depression as an act of God, Due to overconfidence, pride, arrogance, total reliance in the stock market. Very, very similar to the pride, arrogance, and overconfidence that sunk the Titanic.

A bigger question is will the tariffs be gone in 3 years or less?  Since they weren’t passed by congress (aka not law) it’s not hard to imagine the next president doing away with them.

Biden added a bunch of tariffs to solar equipment, so they're yelling at everyone to go renewable and every new house in the state needs to have solar installed, but then they add a tariff to it. Wat?? Super annoying to mandate something and then jack the prices up on it. Anyway, presidents and politicians need to do less, because they make everything worse every time they try to "fix" something. I like a house controlled by one party and a senate controlled by the other, just so they can't do anything.

I think it’s messed up when you order a part from Europe, receive the part and then a month later get a bill for the tariff, that nobody could calculate. Thanks Donny fucking idiot

These “new USA factories being built” will be robotic 24/7/365 with no healthcare or retirement benefits. So much for Americans getting all those jobs.

It's surprisingly difficult to replace a pair of hands.i don't know what his company does, but it wouldn't surprise me if there was no automation. My job right now is so effing stupid you would be shocked that it hasn't been replaced with machines, but unless you're doing something very close to what someone else has already automated, it's hard to implement.

He’s not worried about it for another 50,000+ miles (his Ford Powertrain Warranty - 5years/60K miles).🤣

You ever notice the folks making snarky uninformed comments about our rigs aren’t “gettin’ out there” in their own rigs?🤔

They don’t drive to Cabo…or chase the SCORE series. I don’t see them out pre-running with us. Maybe it’s because…

Their beloved brand doesn’t have a Raptor or a Bronco.

I’m jus’ laughin’, ya know? 🤣

Or rather you sell toasters in America but assemble them in Asia. Now your unsure what to do because your toasters are more expensive but you don’t want to commit to manufacturing in the US because the tariffs could be gone tomorrow, next week, next year.

I’m laughing while getting over 800 miles on a tank of gas in the little 2.7 that most tried to talk me out of.

It kind of helps when you have buddies in the know that, actually own one or, know what they’re talking about.

Thanks once again 👊🏼
