You took the words right out of my mouth!

I was 9 years old when I saw this race at 11:20PM on ESPN, it was run late because of a hockey game!

I thought Sky Coop was gonna win and then Wardycakes snuck in at the end...

I'll never forget Jeff Wards quadruple fist pump over the finish line.

1986 Anaheim with Bailey and Johnson. How could anyone forget that?

A few notes from that evening/year:
-Jeff Ward was sponsored by both Chevy Trucks and Nike(the helmet he was wearing had rocks painted on it along with logos from both companies)
-Every rider in the top twenty that night had a custom painted helmet, most of them by TLD
-That may have been Ricky Johnson on the track, but it wasn't the great RJ that we remember... I remember thinking that as a kid how sad it was to see him like that. Oh well, his last hurrah on a bike.
-MxKied had an AWESOME helmet that year, as did Chicken Matiasevich and Bradshaw
-How awesome was Bradshaws gear that year!!??!! 17 years old and he was riding like a champion.
-Everyone always says that Stanton lacked the talent but made up for it in determination. That is bullshit, he had loads of talent to go that fast on a bike. True, some had more, but Jeff still had a LOT!
-Fulton County Stadium baby!
-JMB injured or just riding badly?
-This entire year was one of the BEST that Supercross ever had to offer... if you think about it, the field in 1990 was similar to what we will have in 2011~

Haha I'm sorry about that dude... my mom was in love with him and Jeff Stanton and that's what she always called Jeff Ward... kinda just stuck in my head.

Hey OCSCOTTIE, do you have the race in which RC and Reed lap EVERYONE? I think it was in California around 04 05 or 06.

For me the best SX ever , well one that i attended any ways, was the 1991 San Jose, Ca. SX
I was in the US Navy at the time, and i brought one of my shipmates with me to see it, all he was interested in was how much beer he could drink , lol.

I was a fan of Damon Bradshaw at the time, and i remember him getting stuck on the gate and starting dead last, well Guy Cooper and Jeff Matasavich battled intensly thoughout the race and with 2 laps to go, or it could have been the last lap not sure, Matasavich and Cooper came together, not sure if it was a block pass gone wrong , or what but they both went down, well Doug Dubach inherited the lead, but Damon was gaining on Doug really fast, Damon had come thru the field and was in 2nd, but Doug held on to win by 3 feet Maybe,
I was screaming and yelling so loud, i was hoarse for days after.

yup thats the one I thought, thanks M-M, watching those 2 go at witheverything they had for 20 was the most intense race Ive seen...the old races were great for their time, but just don't match up to the intensity of this.

Ricky and Chad at Daytona 05. Within a bike most of the race until Ricky tossed it in the whoops. Great race.

#1: Pontiac 2002 - RC wadding hard in the first laps, only to get up and almost win
#2: Atlanta 2005 - Epic RC / Reed battle. The mic's were set up perfectly to capture the 2-stroke fury
#3: Phoenix 2003 - Lusk's finest ride, great battle with Reed
