If you believe "war" is "boots on the ground", the war has started many years ago. Anyone who doesn't believe there are people "on the ground" there have not been paying attention. Whether it be CIA or other covert ops, there are boots on the ground there.
Do you manufacture and sell a product? Or are you a service based company? Why do the tariffs affect you? Are you importing goods?

I have a class 8 truck repair shop. The cost of parts have doubled. Now we’re dealing with parts shortages because no one wants to stock the warehouses back up because of the tariffs. The parts have gotten so expensive that customers cannot afford to repair their trucks.

Modern warfare is just vastly different these days from what it used to be. Boots on the ground is hardly necessary anymore. With the economic intertwining of countries the focus has shifted from pure military clashes to economic warfare that include sanctions, and restricting access for the importation of goods and restricting the ability to freely export, is how wars are fought these days.
Other than making a declaration of war, what were doing now is a lot what "war" would look like with Venezuela. American businesses are still doing business in Venezuela, Russia, and China.
American business's control the American government and they want you and I (the taxpayers) to subsidize some military action in order to give them more power to negotiate better terms in these countries is really what it boils down to.
They say nato is at war with Russia, but nato countries are still doing billions of dollars worth of business with them. They claim China is Americas biggest threat, but our economies are reliant on each other. War is nothing more than means to control resources and the mechanisms for doing this vary greatly and have expanded with the digital revolution.

I don't think it will go much further than economic and financial warfare. Like i said before, if we wanted Venezuela, we could have it in a day probably. Its not about occupying its territory, it about controlling its resources.

I think that would be a fair question IF I were the one claiming this action will result in "war", but I am not. Since I am not, I don't feel the need to back up a statement that I did not make. But IF you are claiming along with the other people who are, it's fair to ask what you mean using that term. You gave an opinion, and an opinion that is consistent with some other people and would not be out of line with many other people. War is semantics. Is it war when US forces engage in combat? In many cases, no. Is the blockade war? Perhaps economically, but not in a traditional sense. Is “boots on the ground” war? Getting much closer, but largely depends on activity level. If weapons are deployed against another nation’s military or infrastructure? The only thing missing is Congress’ formal declaration.
Wars do not have engagement time minimums. Some have durations less than a week, or even a day. The definition largely revolves around targets and assets deployed. Blowing up cartel transportation? Not war. Blowing up Venezuelan government boats? Yep.
But, but , I like women’s beach volleyball.. 😂
