Also, I’d like to give special. Thanks to Dan Gray at Re-MX.com his company offers a lot of difficult to find parts for these restorations. I highly recommend his website and company if you’re doing one of these old Honda restorations.

So sometimes you have to just make some parts yourself. I made this front number plate mount bracket from a stick of aluminum. Still trying to decide how I’m going to attach it to the clamps. Probably cut grooves to except a large rubber O-ring.

So I have a small dilemma? I can’t decide if I want to use black or the 78 Honda red grips? Also, can’t decide if I want to leave the brake and clutch purchase bare aluminum or paint them black?

Another small upgrade detail that I’m doing is I found these nice front engine mounts made out of aluminum on eBay. I recommend them they have a nice clean look.
The journey started out here?

And now the journey is here. I’m super happy with the results so far. Can’t wait to move forward and finish this project.
looks great!
My vote for grip color is black
Thanks, i think i will go with the black grips.

(You're a very fortunate person.)
Thanks for posting all the photos and info!
Took a little time last night to install foot pegs.

I’m happy with how the 46 year old sprocket cleaned up.
Just a random photograph of the bike and where I’m at with it right now.

Worked on the project briefly last night. I got the levers, throttle, kill button, and fuel petcock installed. Also cables.

So as you can see, I decided to go black on black with the controls and the grips.
Tonight I will be taking off original Mugen silencer Sandblast it then fix the dent and then repaint for final installation. I will also be vapor honing the carburetor and get it ready for a total rebuild.

Looks awesome so far, just the front fender... doesn't look right.
Too high in the front.
Yes, I felt the same way about how it looked in the pictures. But it really doesn’t look that way in person. It’s an optical illusion through the lens of the camera. It really looks pretty good in person. it is the stock 79 CR 125 fender. Which was made for the 23 inch front wheel. I thought about putting a 79 CR250R fender on it? I have not decided yet?
I spent last night sandblasting Mugen silencers and the copy that I made. Getting them ready for final repairs and paint.
Also sandblasted carburetor bodies. Getting them ready for Vapor honing and rebuild.
I will be working through every part of the carburetor and meticulously cleaning and polishing to brand new condition.

The carburetors are ready for rebuild.
Had some time off after Christmas working on getting the engine put back together also getting it mounted into the frame on the bike. For the final stage of the assembly and restoration. The first thing to do was to put in new seals.
Then install the new NOS piston. And rings.
