93% of journalists are dyed in the wool, card carrying,  Liberal Democrat Socialists? Let’s talk propaganda……

Hey Mutt,

Welcome back.

What's this, your 13th or 14th user account?

Hold on, BossWool was just identified as the returning of this Mutt character.

Can him and myself both be him? I remain, Unamused.

Just work on sticking around a bit longer on this username.

You entertain me.

Its the essence of your argument..."why are you complaining about this, when you didn't complain about that?", its an attempt to gain the upper hand in a debate by diminishing the credibility of your debate opponent (i.e. "you don't have any credibility on this topic because you didn't say anything about this other instance when someone you agreed with did something similar")...its weak...you can call it "expanding on the initial conversation" all you want...but what is really is (and its unfortunate you apparently can't see it), is whataboutism political hypocrisy...

What does Somalia have to offer us besides refugees?

Every Zionist war we’ve helped with we get more black and brown immigrants so not all that different.

Yeah, kinda my point.

And he's comparing them to Isreal.

$1 Billion of tax payer dollars from Minnesota went to Somalia and terrorist organizations from Somalia. Complete incompetence? On purpose? To me, this is a huge deal taking tax payer dollars and not giving back to the seniors and disabled and those in need.

But…

Even though it’s a huge crime and there’s great fraud, will they be prosecuted? We know they won’t. Even if they are, will they get convicted? We know they won’t especially Ilhan Omar. It’s called DEP (democratic executive privilege).

It is honestly unbelievable. $1billion gone, and all but 8 people involved are somalian.  So we have the largest Somali community in America, and they steal the states tax dollars.  Thats real assimilation right there!

Oh it really grinds my gears, and yes, they are / were stealing.

I would liken it more to when big tobacco used to have little cigarette "specials" that they would have in a display right on the check out counter at gas stations.
These were placed there for kids to steal to create more customers.
Stores didn't pay for that "missing" merch.
It was a set up to allow kids to steal.

Seems about what our politicians did here.
Turned their heads and let it happen.

Not what Omar is trying to spin, but not like they didnt know it was a problem...
We see the autism schools with 5,000sf of prime office locations and only 2 kids in it.

It would be interesting to also track how many of those indicted also donated money to Ms Omar's campaign.

Would also be interesting to know how she was broke in 2018 when she was elected to Congress, and now has a net worth "up to $30 million".

Congress annual pay is $174k a year, how exactly do you turn that into tens of millions in 7 years?

I would like to sign up with her investment advisor....

It costs Minnesota taxpayers $80,000 per year to house an inmate in their prison system. Looks like 78 have been charged? The wiki page is a little behind, because it still says 77, but so far it shows that only 7 people have been sentenced for a total of 78.25 years. That's over $6m to house these 7 people with less than 10% of them sentenced, presumably going to cost taxpayers $60-$70 million beyond the amount they were already defrauded. And they're going to have to add a bunch of checks and balances to make sure that this kind is harder to do, which means adding more people and process, which adds more ongoing cost to taxpayers. The gift that keeps on giving...

And this is the kind of thing that the left should have been paying attention to prior to the rise of Maga, because their resentment didn't exactly come from nowhere. When you have some honest guy working his ass off earning $18'hr, that's some really fucked up messaging, that society is willing to spend twice what they make on a criminal that steals from children and does nothing, plus they force the $18/hr guy to pay for it. Not to imply that we should be doing that whole blackhearted "shotgun shell costs 50 cents!" nonsense, nor is the answer even remotely clear, because turning prisons into profit centers pretty much always results in more people going in for silly crimes and going in for longer, but something is broken and needs to change. The honest and hardworking are beyond tired of being laden with the debts of people that rape, murder, and certainly those that steal food from kids.

The autism rate jumped through the roof. Slight red flag. Ilhans body language has completely shifted from arrogance to hands clutching herself and looking down. Either way you slice the pie of incompetence or complicit is not good. That was way too much money to be silenced and swept under the media rug.

Fucking brilliant! Best post I’ve read in a while in that it really highlights the absurdity of how we have organized our society.

The reality is there are members here who like Walz, like what he's done with the state, and probably like Omar as well.

How much does it cost each taxpayer to run the entire prison system in that state?

Good question. Department of corrections website says the budget for the 2026 fiscal year is $844.5 million, and the google says there are around 3 million taxpayers in the state, which works out to about $281.50 per year, per taxpayer. Which, maybe doesn't sound all that exciting, but to put in perspective the scale of this Somali taxpayer fraud dealio, the amount stolen was more than the entire prison budget for the entire state for the entire year..!!

Side note, the google also says the state is about $730 million behind in deferred maintenance and repairs of their prisons. That's another ballooning problem they're going to have to deal with, plus at some point that lack of maintenance could turn into lawsuits and the mess just keeps compounding.

I have no idea why it costs so much to manage prisons?  Less amenities, less technology, less comfort, less guards...more inconvenience, most suffering, more crime deterrence...and it would save tax payers money?

If families can live on the outside for less than $80K/year...I have no idea in the world why it would cost that much to keep someone in prison?

So many things are backwards in this country...diabetics have to pay for their insulin...but drug addicts get their overdose injections (whatever they are called) free...always worry about social security running out of money...but never any talk of prisons running out of money?
