Red Bull: Max Verstappen and Isack Hadjar
Red Bull have opted to change their line-up for 2026. Verstappen stays, but he will be partnered by Hadjar, who has been promoted from Racing Bulls. Hadjar impressed in his debut season, with the highlight being a podium finish in Zandvoort.
Verstappen will be entering his 11th season with the team, having himself been promoted from what was then Toro Rosso all the way back in 2016. Hadjar is his seventh Red Bull team mate, with previous incumbent Yuki Tsunoda becoming the team’s reserve driver.
Whether Verstappen and Hadjar can work together to deliver further success to the team remains a mystery, but Red Bull will be hoping Hadjar fares better than either Tsunoda or Liam Lawson managed in 2025.
Because Hadjar has remained so calm under the helmet this season…
No reason to believe he won’t fall victim to the Max curse like his predecessors. But ‘26 does bring with it a brand new car, so who knows, maybe he’ll outperform Max! Anything’s possible, right? No?
Man what a great job by Williams and Sainz to maximize the night. Things are heating up at the front and I am all for it.

I think this is great.

Not a fan of the McLaren strategy ... and Lois getting dumped in Q1 is rather apropos for the lifeless energy he's been running the last half of the season with.

Fun Fact:
The Abu Dhabi race has been won from pole for the last 10 years, and the front row have finished in that order in seven of the last 10 races.
Max's pole lap.
With the right strategy and a bit of luck Red Bull could put Yuki between Max and the McLaren’s. Okay, more than a bit of luck, but Hannah & Co likely have those contingencies available.
“Let Yuki Bye”…? 🤣
(If I recall correctly, Keith wrote “bye”…)
The other Hannah. RB team strategist Hannah Schmidt.
One of the few times being in the east is advantageous 😁
Thought I read red bull reserve driver
If Verstappen is leading after the first lap then he will start to bunch the field up. Not sure how Norris is going to deal with this. He is going to have the whole field breathing down his neck and if he tries to pass Max he risks being pushed off.
Shit is about to get crazy.
Bunching doesn't work at Yas Marina. Two back-to-back DRS zones and a very wide track in both locations make that a stupid idea. 12 point gap is virtually impossible to overcome. This is Lando's to lose not anyone else's to win.
If there's any shenanigans to possibly happen, it'll be the 3 other RB cars to see what the team asks of them.
