Crazy the way some of you Oz guys are talking about his riding! Hope he can do KTM proud this season. In 'this climate' by the sounds of it he is lucky he signed a 2-year contract!

I don't know what Mike's issue is but I hope he gets it worked out soon. Mike is one of my favorite riders and I wish him well. I do think he NEEDS to be on the 450 though. Mike has always been better at riding a big bike. He should have stayed on a 450 from his debut. He never should have been in the 250 class to start with. Either way I think he can and will figure it out. I'm rooting for you Mikey.

And Honda Yamaha, Kawasaki, Suzuki dont.

I keep seeing this argument but it makes no sense.

KTM are then the others are to,

so they are winning on equivalent level bikes

Get it?????????????????????
The 4 jap factories do run works equipment in europe, however the jap factories to not make it their first priority. The opposite is true for KTM; KTMs first priority has been the GP series and AMA has played second fiddle over the years.

So to answer your question the ktm's in europe are much better, and in europe they spend money to sign the top guys. Best bikes best racers = championships.

There is a lot of truth to that statement. I think it was pulpmx who did a podcast with Grant Langston and he talked about how in Europe the KTMs were so good it was almost like cheating. He said he could pull up to a rider going thru whoops, back off a bit, look over and then leave em in the dust. He said although his KTM over here was good, it was nowhere near the level of his GP bike. He said it was vice versa for his PC bike, he said his PC bike over here was almost like a cheater bike as well where as in Europe they werent nearly as good. I think its all about the manufacturers priority. It is exciting to think about the improvement RD will bring to the US for KTM.

You are right, but my hope is that RD can change Austria's mind. I have seen Mike ride both the 350 & 450 on the same track right after each other and dropped 3-5 sec. a lap. He is not a guy who rides a bike at 12-15,000 RPM like the 350 needs to be ridden. He is a 6-8000 RPM power rider. He needs to be on the 450. Bottom line.
If this is true then this shows the people making the decisions at KTM need to hand over the decision book to RD. 3-5 seconds a lap x 20 laps. Well i think i am getting my point across and i don't even like Alessi but i do think the kid has talent and raw speed and from what i have seen he is true to his fans!

Mikes program has been going further in the shitter ever since Tony stepped back.
Tony needs to man up and whip Mikes ass back into race shape. It's evident that Tony was the reason for Mikes success and Mike needs him more now than ever.
They've got about a month.

Break out the oars we got some fuggin training to do.

Another asterisk to Dungey`s championship- if Mikey had 450 he would demolish him. Only time Dungey would have seen number 800 is first two corners. What a load of.... 3-5 sec. Right.Whistling Dizzy

I've had my issues with this kid in the past, but have grown to respect his hard work ethic and improving attitude. No one can doubt his love of the sport and desire to be the best he can be.

I think 2011 will be a turning point for Alessi. I liken his early career to that of Mike LaRocco. Lots of talent but a meddling parent in the way in the beginning. Old Man LaRocco cost Mike the 1992 125 motocross national title. It was the breaking point in that relationship. He won championships immediately after that (1993, 1994) and was runner up in Supercross to the greatest of the time (McGrath).

Alessi now seems to have broken away from his father's constant BS, just as LaRocco did after a rough, but promising start to his professional career. Under the tutelage of the best in the business (R.D.), this could be just what Mikey A. needs to get it together.

I also find a new level of maturity in the kid that he lacked before.

Good luck Mike Alessi, I'll be rooting for you.

I'm shocked that he will be at SX in 2011.

More shocked that ANYONE thinks he will do anything in SX. He was never any good at SX, even on the Suz 450 with a less competitive field. More than once he will not qualify. Still, this will be just one more guy to make the LCQ's some sick racing this coming year.

bullshit...mike was doing fine and had sx dialed sans the whoops. if he was still on team suzy he'd be way ahead of the game at this point, instead he has gone backwards.

weren't you watching the sx series he was racing a couple of years ago?
Yeah I watched in 2009. Dialed???!

Here is the order of his finishes. Is it surpsrising at all that he was top 4 at almost every race after the 1st lap, only to fade back?

11, 11, 9, 7, 9, 11, 6, 11, 3, 4, 6, 7, 11, 6, 4, *, 6

He had 3 good finishes Seattle(4), Indy(3), Daytona(4). It should be noted that at Daytona J-Law got 2nd after a 1st turn melee (and cutting the track). The asterisk denotes where Alessi got 6th in the LCQ and failed to qualify at Salt Lake.

He finished 9th in points in 2009. We all just saw him pulling 8ths and 9ths in Aus SX. What would you say will happen to him in SX 2011? I say he fails to qualify several times and has big problems even breaking into the top 10 at all.

Ding ding ding... We have a winner! There's no point in arguing with BoobyM about Alessi. He'd have Alessi's baby if he could.

After seeing Alessi first hand last night at parramatta. He just looked like he really didn't want to be there and understandably frustrated. He did suffer a bit of bad luck getting caught up in a few of other peoples accidents, but when you're faster you miraculously tend to miss those problems.

He just out and out lacked the pace to hang with Hansen, Moss, Marmont, Simmonds and Reardon, and was shown up the entire night by his brother.

Watching Mike race last night was horrible.I don't think that his Tour De Oz has done anything but ruin his confidence.I was just hoping that he didn't crash and hurt himself.
Hope Roger can weave some of his magic on #800 or he may well want to send him back here....around early January
