Deegan needs to move up this season. He’s slowly getting over the 250 habits that hindered him in Argentina. 8 more 250 races won’t help his race craft against the 450 guys. Hes going to be riding a 450 all season in prep for outdoors, he might as well stay on it.

I think they'll make people think he's gonna be on a 250 up til about 1 week before a1 and they'll announce he's racing 450

1. Deegan has had a plan to defend his “1” plate in 250SX (West).
2. Moves to the 450 for The Nationals

If…IF…he races a 450 during SX? I’d expect it to be Daytona…and that’s because it’s in the middle of a rather long break in 250 SX West.

Just catching up on all the races and what exciting moments throughout. I thought the level was pretty high through the top 7-8 or so in all three mains.

Deegan looked better but also like the track threw him off. Kenny was fucking amazing. Christian was great. Cooper was solid for cashing a check and it being like Glendale on crack. Anderson did not look good in conditions that should have suited him. The bike setup is def off there. Will be interesting to see if they work it out but still lots of time before the west coast opening rounds to sort it out.

Eli looked off all day too. Same as Ando, obv missed setup but still surprising considering this should have been soil he thrived in much like Hombre.

All around awesome to watch from the practice track for free on YouTube. Smile

Jett got worked by Malcom Stewart at the Paris sx, what's your point?  These off season races are rarely indicators for regular season results.

"Haiden could have went 1-1-1"

Let me know when that happens. Thanks. Until then, my opin is as valid as yours, "super fan".

Those 450 races were super exciting. Passes going on everywhere.

Regardless, it was a fun surprise seeing Deegs in the mix in WSX but staying on 250 makes sense if that's the route they go. Either way, Sexton on green, Tomac & Prado on orange, Mookie looking speedy, and all the other post season drama is making for an exciting A1 with or without Haiden on 450. Maybe someone will switch Jetts preferred donut recipe and throw him off his game and we'll see a championship battle this year.

I probably missed it, but was there a reason Sexton wasn’t riding this? What better way to dial the bike in.

Yep. These races are warm up races. They are , however, are slight indicator of speed for the next season - like Jeremy McGrath at Paris SX ‘92. He got second behind JMB, but began his dominance in ‘93 (first yr on the big bike).

Any word from Tomac? He did not look good. I was surprised honestly.

^^^ I liked what one poster said previously, that he was struggling with the bike on midturn and other riders were cutting under him.  Probably dealing with some bike set up?

the Kawi team have not been supporters of overseas races for qute a while, Tomac discussed it in an interview with Lewis in Vancouver that he feels its a mistake,

Factory Kawasaki has a reputation for not liking extra curricular activity races. He made a point to to Des Nations if called upon in contract. As far as WSX they clearly haven’t seen the justification or advantage to doing the extra races.

Go watch SX races from the 80’s, there was plenty of dust.

I'll qoute Lewis Phillips here, "now with a difficult period behind him, it seems that Deegan is set to return to 250SX West for the 2025 Monster Energy AMA Supercross season, a move that will allow him maximum time to prepare for an assault on the 450MX title in 2026 Pro Motocross"

Dude… he’s racing 250 in SX. I don’t know how many times it needs to be said or confirmed for people to understand.

anybody watch Lewis' interview with Deegs? He had to talk himself into racing the 3rd main because he said the bike felt terrible but "didn't want to throw anyone under the bus" but he read a Kobe Bryant quote that motivated him to do it. Seriously.

I can relate.

Back in 1989 when I was 19 i didn't want to do the final moto of a race at my local track either. But then I thought, what would world famous Detroit Piston forward Bill Laimbeer do? I put my helmet on, lined up on the gate and committed a hard foul in the first corner taking half the field out, breaking my main rival, Billy "Butter bones" Jones leg.

Honest question. What makes you deegan fans the way you are?

He’s a different level of deegan fan, a lot more than me.

That's not an honest question.  It's a poor attempt at insulting me (and Deegan fans broadly) with a question.

Honest question. What makes you deegan fans the way you are?

Lack of interpersonal skills and decades of repressed homoerotic feelings which manifest in a parasocial relationship and vicariously living through a teenager's accomplishments.
