Anyone using the crossair x? I rode in mine for an hour today for the first time and the plastic on the inside leg portion of the boot is already in very rough shape.

I can’t comment on the Crossair……….but the Sidi Crossfire 3 I have are like strapping a 1x6 to the bottom of my feet.  I bought them couple years back.  I need to get off my ass and put my Sidi Crossfires on Facebook marketplace place.  They are like new.  I can’t walk around the garage in them.  I screwed around and waited to long to send them back.

I’ll say this they are well made.

Interesting to run across this. I was just thinking how much I liked my Sidi street track boots. I’m not thrilled with my A-stars Tech 7s at the moment. Those Crossairs may need a try.

What's the boot rubbing on? The round indentations look like a bolt head

Only thing I can think is maybe the plastic is soft enough to get into where the bolt holes mount the frame guards. Idk both boots worn on the same day an hr apart. There is no plastic leftover on any of the bolt heads though.

That sucks. I was thinking about getting a pair of Crossairs.  SG12's are great but I wish they were lighter.

The boots seem to be good as far as everything else goes, they are the first sidi boots that fit my feet and are quite comfortable and require almost no breakin time, and the weight compared to the sg12s is definitely noticeable. But $600.00 boots that have that kind of lack of durability will hurt your feelings. Especially when it ruins the new boot first ride excitement lol.

Interestingly, earlier in this thread it was explained the primary difference between the Crossair and the Crossair X was the plastic piece above the ankle.
It looks like that's the part made out of cheese on your boots.

I wonder if it is intentionally soft to give better grip to the bike? Prevent scuffing your bike? Or if it's a product design uh oh?

Looks to be replaceable, I wonder if you contact Sidi if they'd give you a replacement?

I do believe it is replaceable, if it has to be replaced every ride, they should put that in the product description lmao. The non replaceable hinged portion below it is just as soft though and would seem to get chewed up just as fast.

Had a pair of Crossfire 3 SRS, they are tanks and protected my leg from a random loveseat on a trail at 30mph, and a nasty OJ at a track. Sidi boots also look absolutely amazing. Sidi not running US sizes killed them for me my foot is already big enough I dont wanna add a half size up for comfort. Also if you have a wider foot, the toebox is brutal. Had to drop a set of Roadrace boots called the Sidi Roarrs have 6 months because it was like having vice grips on my feet. Which was a shame caused I loved the Vertigo boots.

I found more love with Leatt 5.5 GPXs and a Dr Scholls work boot insole was the most comfortable boot I've ever worn. Loved my SG-12s but wore through them quickly, currently on a set of Tech 10s which have been fabulous. Also I run a pair of Supertech Rs for roadracing which are also fabulous.

Also a small gripe I have with Sidi anything other than their crossfires seem to get ran and dropped after a year or two.

If it was a manufacturing quality issue, then the replacements might be different hardness.
Only way to find out is to ask!

I have the X in black and don’t have that problem on a 2025 ktm 250 2t.

The Crossair fits wider than pretty much any other boot in the toe and forefoot. It doesn’t feel much like a crossfire 3.

Scrolling through Sidi's website it looks like they updated all the Crossair Xs with the new logo and killed off the Crossair all together. I've really been wanting a version of the Crossairs since they introduced. But I just cannot seem to kill my 4 year old Crossfire 3s. Looks like you can pick up leftovers for arond $400.

Apologies if this has been asked, but can someone explain the quality hierarchy for Sidi boots (highest to lowest)? For example, with Alpinestars you have the Tech 10, then the Tech 7, etc. Is the Crossair x their top model?

I’m looking for a new boot for my wife and want the highest quality possible. I love my Tech 10s, but they don’t come in her size. She currently rides in Gaerne SG10s, which are pretty warn at this point. I noticed Sidi offers smaller sizes in many of their models, like the Crossair X.

Thanks for any info, everyone.

Crossair X is the top although sidi might say the crossfire 3 is also the top. The standard Crossair has less armor for the shin/calf area than the X or the crossfire. The crossfire doesn’t have good ankle support despite looking like it does.

I saw they were clearancing out the standard Crossair. I haven't seen that on the US distributor side yet.

I had the same experience.  After only 30mins of New-Boot Goofin' around the house, I sent my Crossfire3 back.

Since this thread is a couple years old, does anyone have an update on the longevity of the new soles on the crossair and crossair x?

About to buy a set of crossairs to replace my faithful atojos since they have them discounted a bit.

Close to 20 offroad hours on a pair of crossairs. Very little sole wear and excellent peg feel with out feeling vulnerable.

2/4/2026 9:32am

I have the type of feet that fit Sidi Crossfire SRS boots, ive had a few sets of 2s and 6 sets of 3s. I also had a set of Atojo which have a bit more room width wise, and now I have added a set of Crossair-X. The Crossair-X are maybe just a touch roomier than the Atojo, ive got about 150 hours on them and the soles have held up nicely. It's a toss up for me between my Crossfire 3 SRS and the Crossair-X, right now im using the Crossfire for moto only, and the Crossair for offroad between my 500 & 890. The Crossair sole is significantly softer than the SRS, it's nice on those 8-10hr big bike rides. I'll definitely be buying a new set.

That is good to hear, I have at least 150-200 hours on my Atojos, ive gone through 2 sets of soles but otherwise the chassis has held up extremely well except for the top piece of foam that the new crossair looks like they used a more durable material.

I got a killer deal on a set of tech 7s and I just cant get along with them very well, for whatever reason the plastic under the buckles just bunches up and is just kind of a poor fit the 3 buckle Sidis are just easier and quicker to take on and off as well.

I think the Crossair soles hold up a little better than the SRS. Most people either destroy soles or don't, and I don't (unless I have a kick starter) so I am probably not the best example. I don't know if they sell the Crossair soles separate in case you want to get them repaired. The US distributor could answer that question.

I agree with you on the Tech 7 being difficult to buckle. I have the Crossair X and they are a little easier to buckle than the new Tech 7. The Atojo is probably the easiest boot to buckle. The problem I had with the new Tech 7 is I would get cramps in my foot/lower leg when I wore them. I assume they were restricting blood flow for me. They did fit tighter than the Sidi.
