Again, why? They signed him aiming at 2026 not this year and all year long he’s been getting closer and closer to Leclerc who’s a blindingly fast driver especially over one lap. Their long-term plan is Bearman who’s fast but needs time to cut out the mistakes, and Hamilton likely retires end of 2026 win lose or draw.
Right now their biggest problem is keeping hold of Charles. I know teams have spoken to his management on the down low and there’s a lot of paddock talk about him being pissed off at seven years of false hope and promises…

Just thought of this. Originally F1 was going to reinstate fuel stops with the '26 regs, and may still in the future. Can you imagine the possibilities of how Ferrari could fuck up the strategy with fuel stops being a part of the equation!!!

That and the stewards being on crystal meth.
Here they use seasoned SCCA members. Any with great responsibility are very experienced with many years doing SCCA, IMSA, NASCAR, INDY, etc.
I can say without hesitation, that anyone getting on the track here knows what goes where, and why.
Europe is this way as well. I know this because my brother worked Silverstone twice.
The SCCA folks are great, up there with the Brits and the Germans as some of the best volunteer marshall groups for motorsports events you can get. Usually there’s some of them and some of the Motorsport UK marshalls at events like Mexico but I don’t know who was there this weekend helping the locals out (if anyone was).

The safety crew at Road America is absolutely top notch and yes they are SCCA Chicago region volunteers. Extremely professional and good at what they do. Unfortunately I've been able to meet more than a few over the years. 🤦
The professional series bring in their traveling crew in addition to the existing staff and it really is a well oiled machine.
I didn't see the full race just the highlights, all of those incidents will be reviewed in the post event briefings. I can guarantee those issues will be addressed.

The Mexican federation is blaming Lawson for getting too close to the Marshall's. Even if Lawson was going faster than they thought he should have been, it's the responsibility of the corner captains/race control to insure worker safety. It was clearly a breakdown in communication to me.
It was double yellow, not a Safety car or VSC. You don't send track janitors out in that condition, IMO.
It looks like Colapinto will extend his contract with Alpine. The article I read said it should be announced in Brazil since it's the closest race to his home country.
Reserve driver for Aston Martin, Felipe Drugovich, will leave the team and he'll be going to Formula E next year to race for Andretti. F2 driver Jak Crawford will replace him.
Stats I saw have Crawford in 2nd even after missing 4 complete races.
I'd say that's pretty solid.

If you've never been to the Henry Ford American Innovation Museum then you need to make it a priority. It's unreal. We go every time we go to Detroit for a Lions game.
W/Sato taking over as HRC Racing Boss…I’d expect the likes of Tsunoda to end up at a strong Honda team. I don’t know if that’s DC Racing or not…I’m just thinking out-loud.
